To worry about all the women who start a thread about DV then disappear?

Am I the only one? Sadly there are regularly threads about a woman suffering abuse and/or violence at the hands of their partner. They are all generally encouraged to leave and quite often come back on the thread a few times to say how they are and what they're going to do.

But then, as far as I can see, they disappear. Maybe I just miss the threads where those women come back to update and say yes they've left their partner, yes they're ok, etc etc. Are there some and I just don't see them? Because it really worries me. When I read somebody is going through that it sticks in my mind and I think about it for days. When they never report back I can't help wondering if they're ok and if they're still suffering.

I'm not saying they 'owe' MNers an update, of course they don't, but do others out there worry too?

other things to worry about.....have been there mnyself......and there is rarely internet available at refuges and hostels.

YANBU --- I have also wondered why people ask advice and then just seem to disappear !, I think that if you are asking people what you should do in a certain situation then its good manners to come back and let everyone know if you followed their advice

I know what you mean but I wasn't thinking of 'manners' as such, more 'what happened to them - did they leave the situation and are ok now or are they still putting up with that shit'.....
