I think they also say pants for trousers.

You are right do asyouwould... lolly ice only sounds right with a Scouse accent.

I live in Liverpool and although OH and all his family say it, I never would! It's ice lolly!

whackamole · 31/05/2011 22:40

I do say pants for trousers sometimes though Grin

dementedma · 31/05/2011 22:42

Scouse DH says Lolly Ice - it sounds completely wrong, even after 25 years.
it's an ice lolly!!!

WhatsWrongWithYou · 31/05/2011 22:55

My mum will sometimes say pants for trousers when she visits. The DCs are old enough to be bi-lingual now, but they still do a double-take!
I taught my DCs to say 'you talkin ter me or chewin a brrriccchhh? Eether way ye get yer teeth knoccchhhed in!'
My DB tells me it's dated Blush.
And < random Scouse fact > - the yoof up there now say 'book' as per RP, rather than the 'bewk' I was brought up to say and still have to think about before saying it.

DeepPurple · 31/05/2011 23:00

As a kid I uses to say ice choc instead of choc ice Blush

stressheaderic · 31/05/2011 23:06
