Well really I don't need to ask - yes I am. Going to work between now and 2.30 then have abreak to clean the kitchen. If you see me on here give me a stern look.

Me too. DH has taken 2 DDs to ILs while i write reports.

We are all being unreasonable. I am doing this because I am stressed out of my mind at work and next week is crunch time. But I think the pressure is actually not helping

plus the work I am doing is DULL

YAB a leetle U because I always used to hate DH if I took the kids off somewhere for the day so he could work then came home to find he had spent a lot of the time farting around and not achieved much.

But YANBU if you get everything/nearly everything done that you intended in double quick time and then relax for a bit a make the most of the house to yourself!

And YANBU for skiving off Sunday lunch with the PILs as probably most of us have done/would like to have done that at some point!

Hope that kitchen is gleaming by the time you read this message - says me sat here in nightie at 1.30 (but have had a busy week and that's my excuse and I am sticking to it!)

I would love that, and DH wold be very happy with it - he is worried about me.
As for crying off lunch - I do enjoy a bit of time to myself but was actually looking forward to this one - feel like I have taken advantage of MIL a lot recently, she looks after the DCs one day a week and I have been late back almost every day recently (same reasons) - she tells me she doesn't mind a bit but I do like to get back in a reasonable time when she has an hour's drive home. So I was looking forward to letting her have some time with the DCs without having to do nappy changes / toilet trips etc and us going to her for a chnage. Suppose she still has that to some extent as DH will be there.

SPB, I really feel for you. I often bring stuff home when I'm stressed and it is so hard to get motivated in those circumstances.

You're not really being unreasonable to not want to work on your day off. But you'll feel even shittier if it doesn't get done - and more stressed.

Maybe trying to work till 14.30 is too ambitious. Could you set a timer for 15 minutes and just see how far you get? I often find that it's easier once I've got stuck in. The thought of it is worse than the actual doing if it, iyswim!

Now get back to work before we have to get the big stick out. And you too Tobermory. Think how smug and virtuous you'll feel when it's done!

I've just done the same. Have decided to not bother with the work. Might do it later when DS in bed and DH out. I'm going to hang around here being judgey and nosey. Might start a thread about how much I hate my PILs.

No, as I say sometimes I like DH to do this to give me some time to catch up / MN in peace :o But not this time.
Once I have emptied the bin I will be in my dressing gown.

If I can get this stuff done it will get marginally better after crunch week, I hope

Yabu but only because I'm stuck at work all weekend while dp is off having fun with his niece nephew sister mum and our pet bunny! I hardly get to see them because I work alternate weekends and it makes more sense for him to be there than here

I ahve been on here more than I should have been.
But in fairness, it is going quite quickly - I am working my way through loads of reports and summarising each page, but lots of them are "same as last page with one key difference" - so a C&P job.
Anyuway, off to emppty bins before I get buried under a mountain of rubbish, dressing gown on, then back to it.
