To be ridiculoulsy excited by a visit to Warrington Market following an age old thread

about the woman who advertises it?
Today, I am going to go. I've looked the address up on google and will be there around 1pm searching for a stall that sells the ties that DD needs for her new school.
Am I?

Warrington Market is unforunately a shell of it's former self. But there are still some great food stalls in there, and I know exactly which school uniform stall you are on about!

Well threaders, I wish you had warned me that Khushan or whatever his name is would be completely disinterested in helping.
What a let down the market turned out to be. Lots and lots of meat stalls and a couple of sweets stalls, but the most bizarre hen night shop.
I doubt it will be my shopping experience of choice when I move.

Lolol! I have a huge soft spot for Warrington Market but that's largely down to the cafe in the corner (No thoroughfare!) and milk shakes with my Dad on a Saturday. (when I was little, not last week)

Are the ads still on? I don't get them down here in Norfolk.

Don't knock it too much though, it's surprising how often I'm looking for something (this week body glitter spray for dd1's dance competition) and think 'they'd have that on the Market'.

When are you moving Kreecher?

My Dad still swears by the meat stalls btw, it's the only place he can get tomato sausages.

That's the one Prof.
Me and DD are moving in August. It's all set up. I can virtually guarantee you'd have got the body spray there.
I listened in to a conversation/rant by a delightful tatooed neck boy. He was giving the stall holder a hard time about something falling to pieces after one wash. The stall holder told him to bring it back, tatboy said that he had thrown it away and couldn't or refused to understand why stall holder wouldn't give him a refund on what was possibly an imaginary purchase.

Ah that was my favourite place to shop when I was aged 14-16, that's where they sold all the 'cool' chavvy clothes, all the girls in my year shopped there. The bright pink combat pants and vest tops with foil print were favoured by most Hmm And they sold the ridiculously short school skirts that we all wore, which somehow the school allowed. They also had the best shoe stall, I had some lovely pink ones with multicoloured flowers on Blush and some white ones with pink graffiti writing on..and you know what? They were the ENVY of all of my friends! Grin

Ah, memories.

I haven't been for ages! I go to Warrington reguarly but it's been ages since I've been to the market.

Which part of Warrington did you decide on in the end?

Sequins - I remember my Mum dragging me round the market in the 70's while she bought boob tubes and the like. Then in the 80's/90's I spent a good while doing the Saturday afternoon sprint round the market looking for something to wear in town on a Saturday night.

Oh Warrington market!

I remember how massive it seems when you're little.

My mum wouldn't shop there because it was common, so we went with my nan.

It completely was the Saturday afternoon place to by fuschia handbags and the like, to match your dress, how desperately I wanted to be grown up like my aunties and going out on a Saturday night.

When I did grow up I couldn't get out of the place fast enough Grin

I used to work there. It was one of the best jobs I've ever had. Me and my mate used to hang around the meat market flirting with all the lads who worked there in our lucn break, ahhh happy days!

I suppose now they've got that shiny new shopping centre no-one goes over that way anymore. Sad

It did look pretty quiet freshprincess, mainly old ladies drinking tea in a cafe.

Ah Broken, I knew there was a good market somewhere in the North West. I foolishly also visited Wigan. That was scary.
