Sorry. I don't get it?

HollyBollyBooBoo · 23/05/2011 21:09

What I don't get though is just because an MP has said it everyone can, including the papers?

God I wouldn't like to be in the Giggs household tonight...!

HollyBollyBooBoo · 23/05/2011 21:10

Jeremy you are joking aren't you? Or just got back from a trip to the Moon?!

headfairy · 23/05/2011 21:13

The MP was using parliamentary privilege... newspapers and tv news in reporting what he said can use Parliamentary privilege, but I think other media would struggle to justify naming him under Parliamentary privilege. I don't quite fully understand Parliamentary privilege, but I think it means that even though the name is out there we can't really still talk about it.

God the whole thing is so tiresome, I just wish these people would just have the balls to open up, do a five page OK spread about how sorry they are and move on with their lives instead of clogging up the papers with this shite.

JeremyKylesPetProject · 23/05/2011 21:16

I was being facetious.

HollyBollyBooBoo · 23/05/2011 21:21

I thought as much, but you never quite know!

It's John Hemmings, isn't it? Isn't he the one that is banned from MN for endless trolling on adoption and mental health?

HerBeX · 23/05/2011 21:32

Oh I think once the BBC has named him, everyone can Headfairy. Even though everyone already had, IYSWIM

Apparantly he's now applied for an injunction to get journalists to stop phoning him. Can you do that with double glazing salesmen?

I'm just wondering when they're going to identify a new psychological disorder: Addictive Injunction-Application Syndrome

OP posts:
HerBeX · 23/05/2011 21:32

Have they really banned John Hemming from here?

OP posts:
hester · 23/05/2011 23:07

I don't think he's been banned from MN, has he? Though a fair few of us wish he was...

Dilligaf81 · 23/05/2011 23:10

Do you think he has been trying the "God me and Jamima Khan being wrongly named on Twitter" to the wife ? Or has she been kicking his Ass since it happened?
I cant wait for his press release.

im sick of it now tbh

Bennifer · 24/05/2011 10:31

Jon Ronson was funny on twitter yesteday. Just as the dam broke with the MP saying his name, etc, he posted something along the lines of "go ahead, sue me, I'm pretty sure it's Tevez"

Hullygully · 24/05/2011 10:31

who cares who sticks what in whose wotsit?

AuntieMonica · 24/05/2011 10:32

YABU unless you're at a footie match

AbsDuCroissant · 24/05/2011 10:34

didn't hf2984579 discuss this on one of her super cryptic threads?

bupcakesandcunting · 24/05/2011 10:38

I thought the footballer was called Brian Riggs Confused Everyone kept saying Brain Riggs on here.

porcamiseria · 24/05/2011 22:04

LOL at bupcakes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

TiggyD · 24/05/2011 22:15

I wonder how you could have got in trouble for saying it was Ryan Giggs? A policeperson would have had to had come to your door and said you were being arrested for saying that...er...they couldn't tell you, not without saying you were right about Ryan Giggs. If they had said that you did correctly say it was Ryan Giggs you could have arrested them.Confused

amothersplaceisinthewrong · 24/05/2011 22:18

Giggs is old news. A times journalist might be in trouble for twittering the other footballer.

Ruprekt · 24/05/2011 22:18

LOL at this!

I know he is loaded but what an expensive fortnight he has had as the Super injunction only worked for a little while!

I would be well annoyed at shelling out all that dosh for nothing!
