Now you know you are being unreasonable for expecting anything resembling a nice birthday when you've got kiddiewinkles.Wink
At least 2 of my birthdays were spent watching DDs sportsday ( I wanted to be at S/Day but on my Birthday also wanted to be having a nice pub lunch!!).
Spent the morning of my 21st giving and receiving practice injections- you'd have thought I could've been excepmt but no.

oh there isn't enough time in the world. when they first started coming over and met my dd she was 2, she wanted to play lego on the floor, they wanted to lie on the floor with pillows playing video games (they seven and eight years older than her) so they grabbed her around the throat and threw her on a sofa. (i was in the kitchen making their lunch).

Sounds like a plan Wink

Maybe [grasping at straws] your dp/dh has a surprise planned
for the weekend?

noooooo....and your partner is their father? How did he react?
Did he treat you with extra love and kindness on your birthday?

it was some years ago now i think he was angry but i really cant remember. they are allowed to (literally) do whatever they want at home, literally anything, and we have had them for around 1 or 2 days every 2/3 weeks.

no he went to the pub and played pool until ten pm :-)

he has nothing planned. as this is my last weekend here until i move away i had asked if he could put off having them so we could do things together, visit special places etc. but he said no.

do you mind me asking - are you moving away just you and your little girl?
How can you put up with him allowing them to do ANYTHING?

Report

FurKnickersAndNoCoat · 20/05/2011 01:42

yes it is just us moving away.

Oh i haven't i have said and done a lot over the years but you can't change much in one/two days when every good bit is undone when they go home.

It's never too late to learn how to quaff a pint or 10, and Weatherspoons is as good a place as any to practise.

Look forward to your move and BELATED HAPPY BIRTHDAY Wine

Happy Birthday FurKnickers. Yes it was a bit crap. I think we all expect something better but RL is a takeaway if we're lucky I think. Maybe fine 5 minutes to do something nice however small, just for you tomorrow. oh and YANBU
