to not expect my house to smell of next door's smoke?

Grrrrrr....

It is her house, so obviously she is free to do what she wishes, but it winds me up that our house constantly smells of smoke from hers.

I don't know if it is to do with having the windows open, or because they are quite old houses with fireplaces and drafty floorboards.

Does anyone else have this? Can you stop it?

Yes, i live in a flat and in the summer can't open my windows or doors or go onto my balcony because of downstairs chain smoking.

we used to live in a masionette. the middle floor bathroom always smelt of weed from the downstairs neighbours. was very annoying.

Can't stop ours. Even though we thought we'd sealed our floorboards. We have two working fires also and am not sure that helps.

Think old houses are worse for this. I sometimes light a scented candle when the whiff comes in. Not to everyones taste, I know.

we get this through open window/ back door from neighbours sitting right by fence wafting fag smoke everywhere

bleurgh!

Our bedroom is the worst. Going to decorate soon, but the thought of getting nice curtains and then them smelling of smoke makes me a bit Confused

We are in an old terrace and have chain smokers next door Sad

We only sorted it at the cost of £700 to have the entire downstairs laminated/carpeted - we did have gorgeous stripped floorboards. Am still angry!
