... to think that because I can't see a new IPOAT thread I should start one myself?

Especially as I want to wish CheerfulYank a VERY HAPPY BIRTHDAY for today. Hope you are having a lovely day.

And here is the patron saint of IPOAT playing Happy Birthday To CY!

< lumbers in dragging sack of garlic, sharp wooden staves and crucifixs aplenty> . I am afeared that the weather may be inclement in Transylvania. Are they part of the EU. Will we need euros, or is some other currency in order. I am packing sunbock, thermals and of course tea making apparatus.
Or maybe I'll just stay here, it might be time to visit the fairies again. < goes all wistful>

Umami · 05/07/2011 21:15

One of the roofies, do you think?

Honeydragon · 05/07/2011 21:20

Looks like mimimammoths had them all, she's on about fairies again. How about we just tell her were going to the monastery?

minimammoth · 05/07/2011 21:23

rummages back through thread to find 'roofies' references. Please enlighten me dear sisters. < stuffs wings, wand and diaphanous slip into bag>

Hullygully · 05/07/2011 22:37

Now look here. What is all this nonsense about vampires? Fie and piffle they are but harmless misunderstood bats and anyway they reside no longer in the mountains of Transylvania, they have been quite driven out. Enough of this nonsense. Dear Mr Rochester is to be carried behind the barouche ina palanquin, I imagine the mountain air will quite restore him.

Let us away, we have many miles to travel before tonight's embarkation.

Hullygully · 05/07/2011 22:39

My, but the sky looks stormy.

Hie, coachman, hie. And don't spare the horses.

Honeydragon · 05/07/2011 22:41

Yippeeeeee!

Ahem

Gosh, how thrilling, off to exotic parts hitherto unexplored by us gels.

Hullygully · 05/07/2011 22:43

You haven't travelled with us before Miss Honey, have you?

Has anyone seen Madame Pag and her trunk?

Honeydragon · 05/07/2011 22:54

No tis my first trip. I believe Madame Pag was last seen lecturing the Suffragettes Mistress Hully

Fiderer · 06/07/2011 05:34

I fear for you ladies as I am still not persuaded that your trip is well-advised. I judge you not, indeed I shall spend anguished hours in worry for your safety.

During your absence I shall move my remaining belongings from the barn into the Big House. I shall loosen my corsets, sit on the verandah, sipping gin tisane and I might even invite that dashing Colonel from the regiment to visit.
It is after all my patriotic duty to entertain the brave and noble heroes of our land.
Be sure to write often.

CheerfulYank · 06/07/2011 06:41

Shall I go with the ladies or stay with Fid? What is one to do?

Fiderer · 06/07/2011 07:12

Oh stay, do! There is much to oversee. Also we can sip our gin tisane together and read stimulating literature.
Don't forget the regiment. I hear there is a handsome new Major. Surely a refreshing change from the collared Rev.
Stripes and more.
Galore.

Implored twice - it must be earnest!

InaPalanquin · 06/07/2011 07:52

Good morning ladies, and welcome to the Pension Transylvania. I hope your journey vas, I mean was comfortable. Can I offer you some breakfast? The steak tartare is especially good.

Hullygully · 06/07/2011 08:26

Lawks that was quick how delightful to be here already! What fresh and bracing mountian air and such pretty black sheep! Is there perchance a tomato juice at hand to accompany that delicious looking steak?

CheerfulYank · 06/07/2011 08:31
Honeydragon · 06/07/2011 09:24

I must say Mistress Hully it was fortuitous that the Highway man ran away when the giant bat flew past. What strange superstitious folk, the locals are.

Fiderer · 06/07/2011 09:32

Mistress Hully, so relieved to receive your telegram. I do hope you are not partaking of the forrin food and beverages. Stay away from anything red and sticky, Mistress Mini brought tea-making apparatus, surely much wiser than local liquids.

Miss CYank and I are flourishing with our newly found independence and responsibility.
Cook's poultice is changed hourly and Watkins has laid out some elegant seating under the poplars where we may entertain the regiment.

Fiderer · 06/07/2011 09:41

"Pretty black sheep"? Beware bats wolves in sheep's clothing.

Hullygully · 06/07/2011 09:45

Oh Miss Fid I am afraid I telegraph with shocking and tragic news. Stop. The entire regiment died en masse this morning thanks to a strange interlude with a couple of young ladies from Basingstoke. Stop. I fear you may await them at tea neath the poplars in vain. Stop. Take up your needlework and think improving thoughts. Stop.

InaPalanquin · 06/07/2011 10:10

If zere is anysink I can do to make your stay more comfortable, please do not hesitate to ask. If you tinkle on my little bell, one of my beautiful daughters will come rushing to meet your effery desire.

Ze view of ze Carpathians is vonder...wonderful, no?

Fiderer · 06/07/2011 10:31

Telegram from Miss Fid to Mistress Hully:

Visit from Colonel Hashing-Dandsome-Toustache-Mwirling. Stop. Mistake in dispatches. Stop. Regiment unaffected by Basingstoke Incursion. Stop. Brave soldiers on leave for tea. Stop. May be given overnight leave. Stop. Must dash, doilies to lay. Stop. Keep your distance from odd forrin women with sharp teeth. Stop. Love Fid. Stop.

Hullygully · 06/07/2011 10:32

Do you have balls here in Transvylvania, Mistress Housekeeper? We were rather hopeful of some dancing.

Hullygully · 06/07/2011 10:34

Telegram from MADAME Hully to Miss Fid:

No! stop. I implore you!. Stop. They are devilish imposters, they are a motley crowd of vagabonds and ruffians, famed for stealing dead regiments' clothes. Stop. They have terrible and unspeakable diseases and will leave you ravaged with the pox if you share a platter.Stop. Banish them hence! stop
