Could have had a bit more consideration when, while parked outside a maternity hospital she put her sirens on full blast 2 feet away from a newborn baby who was about to be put into the car directly in front of her?

DH and I thought she'd put them on by mistake because they went off again a second later, only for her to put them straight back on and then drive off?

I'm hoping she didn't see the baby (plus mother, father, millions of balloons and the nurse) and it was a genuine mistake...

Would you rather she drove off at speed silently and risked an accident?

Brevity · 16/05/2011 20:58

Is this your newborn baby? If so, congratulations!

PS/ YABVU, but if you have a tiny baby, I can understand why.

FurKnickersAndNoCoat · 16/05/2011 20:58

what was she supposed to have done?! the selfish cow. tsk tsk.

FurKnickersAndNoCoat · 16/05/2011 21:00

unless this particular newborn baby is going to be spending the next 6 months of life inside a sound proofed bubble then it is going to encounter this bizarre thing called..noise.

thisisyesterday · 16/05/2011 21:00

yeah cos obviously the person being murdered who she was rushing to help is far less important than your baby.

right.

Jeezo mums net is full of total moany faces these days! What the fuck would have her do? Be late arriving at an emergency while you filled your motor with balloons...

ShinyMoonInAPurpleSky · 16/05/2011 21:05

No not my baby...okay IABU...I just felt sorry for the poor baby's newborn ears Blush it was very very loud though...

I'm just off to hide behind my laptop and not be unreasonable elsewhere then and practice my disguises.

There are sounds that can cause deafness in newborns such as a shotgun being discharged. Police sirens are safe, it is noise that is unharmful but designed to startle and get a reaction. The policewoman has to follow procedures or she would be personally liable.
