I work for a supplier. And I fucking HATE a certain supermarket whose name rhymes with brains berry Angry Because they won't give me a phone number just an email address which they refuse to respond to. So I have a problem to fix which they have notified me about but they won't talk to me to explain

Arrgggghhhhh!!!!! THis has been going on for about a week now. They send me increasingly arsey emails but when I respond they don't get back to me and I can't call them and scream abuse at them talk sensibly to them.

I have boycotted them for now. Ha! That'll show 'em.

blimey they sounds llike ebay. surely a big company like brainsberry would want to deal direct with suppliers - don't you have a rep or something?

Ormirian · 16/05/2011 16:34

Oh yes, we have an account manager, and a customer demand team and all sorts of helpful people but they have no access to the sort of technical help I need and even they can't guarantee to get a response from the people they are supposed to get a response from. It's totally one-sided. I bloody hate supermarkets. Arsey, arrogant, unco-operative buggers all of 'em Angry

Apart from Waitrose of course. And even they have their moments.

and worst of all they keep contacting my boss in the first instance and he is on long-term sick leave due to multiple TIAs due to stress. I've told them time and time again to contact me not him but it makes no difference. So bloody cross. He has to keep forwarding the emails to me and worrying. Tossers!

that's just weird, have you tried googling for thier number?

TheOriginalFAB · 16/05/2011 16:50

I think it is time to get firm since they are harrassing a sick man Angry. I hate mains berry.

Ormirian · 16/05/2011 16:54

I have googled, I have searched their websites. They do not give out numbers for this very reason I suspect. They like to have the whip hand.

I will contact the IT director and tell him about them hassling my boss at least. That has got to stop. He's already on his second bout of it becuse first time round he was still trying to work from home.

FFS! Just had another automated email telling me about an error with something we have sent and NO CONTACT NUMBER and a 'do not reply to this email' on it!

I might have to forget the boycott and go and shout abuse at our local store like a nutter,

Any progress Ormirian?

xStarGirl · 17/05/2011 14:06

I googled and the first result was a list of numbers including their switchboard Confused

www.sainsburys.co.uk/sol/contact_us/contact_us.jsp

Try one of those?
Assuming I have the name of the supermarket right Grin

justcross · 17/05/2011 14:28

sadly, they'll only speak to you if you're a customer. They don't treat their suppliers very well! Nice to know that it's not just us that have problems!! Do most people know about the charges they put onto suppliers when there's a complaint? There's a nice little earner...Co-op are the worst...£40 +vat for someone saying they don't like the taste. It's an outrage

Ormirian · 17/05/2011 14:36

Yes just, I know all about their nasty little tricks.

I found a telephone number in one of their supplier manuals. I rang it. Twice. And left a message both times. Surprise surprise no-one came got back to me. I did manage to get hold of a real human being at the depot we were trying to deliver to who was nice and sympathetic. He gave me a number to call at HO. Called it and was told he knew nothing about the technical side and please don't call him again Hmm and to try this person. This person is on leave until next week.

Have resorted to guessing what the problem might be now. Such fun Hmm

But nice chap at depot has taken my bosses contact details of their system which is good.

Ormirian · 17/05/2011 14:37

xstar - that will be a customer contact. They usually fall over themselves to be open and helpful to the people who give them money. Not so much with the people that expect to be paid.

I hate Brains Berry. My mum bought DS2 a trainset for Xmas from there. We set it up boxing day and it didn't work. My mum took it back and they refused to exchange it because my mum lost her receipt. Thing was, she bought it in November and.....let's be honest, how many of us retain receipts for everything.

My mum is over 60 and a big, big customer of Sainsburys and yet, the amount of goodwill they showed was fucking non existant. No-one in our family shops there now. Bastards.

Ormirian · 18/05/2011 10:46

Finally a result!

I think roping every one in from the IT group director and the finance director helped Grin

Tis fixed. It took me about 5 mins once someone actually talked to me. I think Brains berry needs to sort out their bloody communications and realise that we are on the same side! We want to supply the good and they want to get them so they can sell them Hmm
