DH has taken DD away with the ILs for a week, of course I am and will miss them, I have some tome to myself. Yay. I have some peace and a tidy house and please myself apart from work.

I totally agree. I was single and childless for many adult years and LOVED the independence. Even an evening to myself is an adorable luxury. Oh how I dream of a whole weekend.

I would be thrilled, stoked, delighted, chuffed to bits, ecstatic, over the moon etc etc....

Omg i wish it was me. I do this lots for my husband (due to our family living miles from us) and he loves the time on his own - i would love it!!

OMG I'd have to book the week off work or phone in sick or something. that's amazing...!

The last time I had a day to myself was when I'd dropped ds's off at my Mum's, then dp off at the train station and I got a speeding ticket because I was driving so fast to get home and enjoy the peace...!

I'm going to visit my mother next week for four days sans DP and DCs and I can't stop talking about it to anybody who will listen Two night trains plus 3 night's at mum with no children. Bliss. But a week alone at home is even better.

Another one green with envy here! I'd spend the first day getting the house how I wanted it, putting away any of their junk that annoys me and gets in the way etc (in my DH case the chair in the bathroom that he lays his clothes out for the morning on!) secure in the knowledge it would stay how I liked it for a week. Then I'd spend the rest of the time doing the absolute bare minimum!

I had a week off last week, of course it wasn't booked that so I couldn't go away with the ILs . Ok so it's not a secret "Woohoo, house to myself" I'm just shoving DHs pillow off the bed now so I can spreadout.

I guess I was expecting loads of "YABU not to be a devoted mother and wife" PFB style. I knew I could rely on MN.

I like the idea of calling in sick as well to really max out! enjoy
