to be pissed off that my sis had ivf while fiddling benefits

shes been with her oh for 15 years but she has been on is/jsa the whole time. he lives with her and is a warehouse manager. they have just had ivf paid for by the nhs and shes just found out shes pregnant,

aibu to be really pissed off that shes had the ivf paid for by the nhs while shes fiddling benefits and that she has ni intention of stopping once she has her baby next year????

If she was claiming as a single person whilst being part of a couple then yes that is wrong. IF you felt so stringly about that then you should have reported her to the re;levant people.

but her benefits status has no bearing on her IVF

hi i absoliotly swear to you thisn is no wind up.

i dont really know how it works all i nknow is on a sat she gets 355 carers allowance then income support on a tues (im not sure how much that is though. so are u guys all saying its fine for to cheat the system/?????

if so then fine i hold my hands up iv been wayyyy to judgemental. i only see things in black and white if that makes sense, in my world shes commiting benefit fraud and thats wrong, i know i should be sympathetic but i dont know how as i cant get opast the fact that what shes doing is wrong

There's an awful lot of holes in this story, OP.
I claim benefits (legitimately) and it's not as easy as some people think to defraud the system, especially after 15 years and a warning.

If you believe that committing benefit fraud is wrong, OP, then report her.

But it is a different matter to the IVF. Not related at all as far as I can see.

Or should she not be entitled to have anything "nice", because she is a bad person?

it is wrong to be defrauding the system if that is what she is doing. if she is claiming as a single parent when she isn't then by all means report her.

but that has nothing to do with whether she is getting ivf or not.

londonbabe....you claim elsewhere that you,dh,ds and dd all claim DLA. you are claiming full benefits also.

IVF should be here nor there. Your income isn't taken into account to get IVF on the NHS. The number of funded cycles depends on the Trust you are in.

No, she shouldn't be claiming benefits she's not entitled to, but that's been the case for the past 15 years and not just since she's become pregnant.

So, YANBU to be annoyed she's claiming benefits she shouldn't be getting, but YABU to make any link with that and the fact she has had IVF, successful or otherwise.

Tilly apart from the fact that that isn't stated in this thread (as far as I can see), that has no nearing at all on her silly attitude to her sisters ivf.
