was in shop, woman in shop asked opinion on a gift for a new baby (not yet born) - was a body suit - dead cute, white with angel in silver on front I said is it 100% cotton and can you wash it on hot? I said it's lovely

I looked at the black it had wings - extra fabric, pleated wings you could feel - I suggested that if this was first child it would not be appropriate as baby's spend a lot of time on their back and no new mother would lay a baby down on something lumpy like that - lovely and cute though it was

I suggested that a new baby to a first-time parent it might not be the most appropriate

she thanked me and bought it anyway Grin

was I right?

i don;'t think there is a right or wrong tbh...

you wouldn't do it, other people would.. am sure the baby won't really care either way!

Sounds to me like the kind of suit you'd dress a baby who'd passed on in? :(

no you were right, i never put mine in anything with stuff on the back as i felt it would be uncomfortable, all those babygrows that do up at the back?!! WHY?!! and little cardigans etc that all have hoods, again WHY?

DontGoCurly · 13/05/2011 20:14

They might put it on for a photo........blerdy facebook generation! Grin

Northernlurker · 13/05/2011 20:27

Sounds like a photo outfit only. I think you were right tbh.

LaWeasel · 13/05/2011 20:41

I think sometimes you buy things just for the photo, and that's not such an awful thing.

If it was all properly padded over on the inside I wouldn't've thought would be too uncomfortable anyway.

sounds bloody horrible and tacky tbh
