As neighbours' kids used to ask my other half to come and have a water fight with them where we last lived, don't see a problem. He's just a big kid himself.

it took me a while but it is funny. (what is sick about it? its just humour not like the op was really going to throw boiling water over the kids).

That 'joke' circulates where i live but instead of 'kid' its the 'paki' next door, hilarious.
