I have just found out that i'm pregnant, in fact just 5 weeks with baby no 6. Baby no 5 is just 6 months old and although unexpected (we were using precautions) and scared s*less of how hard it might be. DD1 21, DS1 19, Ds2 14, DS3 8, DS4 6 months. The two oldest have left home and its not as if I have 5 children all tiny but having teenagers is no picnic by any means and the reaction to the news hasn't been great :( GP's have taken it even worse :( . DH over the moon!!! AIBU to ask people to just accept our decision to have baby no6 and be happy about it??

TFMDV Grin

Thank you for all my congrats :)

Zukiecat I was a single mum with 4 kids when I met DH I had been single (albeit dating happily with a few Grin ) for 7 years. We got married last December had our little one last November and now Baby 2 will be due next 8/1/12 DH thinks baby will be born on our 1st wedding anniversary. DH has 3 DC 14, 12, 8. So this will bring our total up to 9. Looking to move to Norfolk at the moment to accommodate them all as we have a 3/4 bed and when all DC are over you can't breathe lol! So never say never I would have NEVER thought i'd get married again let alone had 2 more DC.

I have 3 DCs - the third a "mistake" after a nine year gap! I think those of you who want more are bloody mad Grin. I just never had the maternal gene really!

Congratulations! We have 5 dc and thankfully have never heard any negative comments. I don't really get why people think they can pass judgement on amount of dc you have, if its 1 or 6. Could have easily had another myself but for complications with my last pregnancy. Hope all goes well

floozietoozie · 10/05/2011 23:14

Whoop, whoop! Wonderful. Now thinking I may not be too old and knackered for another (although dp is Grin).

berylmuspratt · 10/05/2011 23:19

That's great news and the big ones can babysit the little ones, if you ever need a medicinal night out :)

ApocalypseCheeseToastie · 10/05/2011 23:22

Ooooooooooooooohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, how lovely Envy

duckypoo · 10/05/2011 23:25

Congratulations, a lovely gap for your little ones.

heleninahandcart · 10/05/2011 23:31

YANBU quite right to be scared, but actually with your youngest at 6 months, new one should fit in beautifully! GP has no right to say something so stupid, none of his/her business. Big congratulations to you and I wish you and DH well Smile

springydaffs · 10/05/2011 23:32

Well I think it's fabulous news and i don't even know you! congratulations OP and OP's H Smile

I'm totally jealous of course Hmm. I would love to have had zillions of kids but it wasn't to be, that bus has left the harbour

springydaffs · 10/05/2011 23:34

who put that Hmm in - i certainly didn't.

thegingerone · 10/05/2011 23:36

Congrats. That's wonderful! I'm only on no3 but would love loads. (it won't happen!)
Enjoy your pregnancy.

ledkr · 10/05/2011 23:36

massive congrats,I had no 5 14wks ago,a little dd.I already had ds's 25,24,19 and dd 8 i was 43 and in great shock.I remember feeling a bit silly when i told people as if i should have more control over my body at my age Blush Peoples reactions were mostly positive apart from a few "are you mad?" She is a joy,was born with a cleft palate which only makes her more special, she never complains and is a sunny little thing, all smiles.DD1 was having a bath with her tonight and said "This is what ive always wanted,to have a bath with my own sister"A baby is always a good thing imho.

Maybee · 10/05/2011 23:38

emmanana · 11/05/2011 00:10

Congratulations!
Balls to the negative gits who want to rain on your parade! Lovely age gap; LO will have older siblings to guide and advise and younger ones to have fun with.
Unless you're asking anyone to do all the 3am feeds/babysit every night/pay your food bills then it has bugger all to do with them how many LO you have.
Lovely happy news - hurrah!

tigerchilli · 11/05/2011 00:11

Congratulations! My two great grandmothers (total coincidence as they obviously weren't related) gave birth to their last child at 52, so 40 something is just a young one by comparison. In addition, these were 10th and 12th child. Blardy hell, imagine that! Grin

EggyAllenPoe · 11/05/2011 00:13

congratulations :)

charmed185 · 11/05/2011 00:43

aurynne · 11/05/2011 00:48

You are happy about this child, your DH is over the moon, why should anyone else's opinion matter?

Congratulations for your new baby and your wonderful family :)

womanwholivedinashoe · 11/05/2011 19:23

LOL, negative comments will now be ignored and i'll be thinking of all your lovely comments instead. Thank you girls xx

Congratulations!!!!

When I was pregnant with no.5 we even had people ask "I take it it was an accident!" Even my own mother who kindly reminds me every so often "God, you don't want any more, it won't be fair on the ones you've got"? Eeerm WTF!! Opinionated old hag!!

Any way, what fabby news!!! At least your older ones are old enough to be of some use!

ComeWhineWithMe · 11/05/2011 19:41

Congratulations!

When you have a large family people seem to think it is quite ok to quiz you on your personal life I just tell them I'm planning on having at least 4 more just to see their faces, I'm not having anymore unless I can get dp to agree Wink but I love having 6 :).

You will be fine :).

Congratulations to largeg&t too.
