to expect hospitals to send appointment change details?

My life travelled 30 miles yesterday to a prearranged appointment at a hospital. They said, it looks as though we forgot to tell you the date had been changed...

I dont expect perfection, but there is something to besaid for efficiency.

Is there a lot of this going on? And is there a lot of APPOINTMENT CHANGING?
