Just caught 18 month old with a bit of rabbit poo in her mouth.

Don't think she swallowed much 'cos she was trying to spit it out as soon as she started to chew, but not sure how worried I should be?

I wouldn't worry too much, children eat all manner of disgusting things.

Never did me any harm. :)

I used to eat dead flies off the windowsill, sand, dirt, worms ... I was THAT kid at school. I now have a cast iron stomach and never get ill.

If that's the only gross thing she eats in her life then count yourself lucky!

MN abounds with tales of kids eating cat sick/poo, slugs and other items of indeterminate nature.

She will be fine, even rabbits eat their own poo once - it's basically (partially digested) grass.

I ate cat litter at 9m and lived to tell the tale!

If it is a pet rabbit who is healthy and had his jabs i'm sure it's fine.

Even if a wild one i'm sure it'll be ok, they're only herbivotres after all.

Is there not any danger of some sort of parasitic infection?

My daughter ate cat poo out of a litter tray - she was fine.

You could phone NHS Direct if you're worried; they'll know. My two both ate some of their own poo as babies neglectful parent and I spoke to a nurse at NHS Direct who asked me if it was fresh or old poo and told me they'd be fine (once she'd stopped pissing herself laughing)

I reckon your DD will be fine.

My toddler put wild rabbit poo in mouth last year. Was mildly panicked but no illness and harm done. Still puts rubbish in his mouth!!
