YARNBU. At all. I had a baby 8 weeks ago and had to have an episiotomy. Just got back from OOH Docs cos my leg is all swollen and she's put me on the sixth course of antibiotics since I had the bab because the episiotomy is infected AGAIN. Repeat infections are exhausting and massively depressing! I hope you feel better soon x

Antibiotics are a vicious cycle. My little girl had lots of them for ear infections - it was the only illness she had. I read a medical article about antibiotics that stated they did not get better any quicker with them, but that it reduced the natural immune system to take them. So I stopped and dosed with painkillers absolutely when needed. The ear infection cleared up just as quickly and eventually, she did not suffer from ear infections. Ever.

8 is a LOT of applications. Try and nag for a cancellation. It must be really unpleasant. Make a fuss - it is the only way, sadly.

I have been the same as I got sinusitis last year twice just before I had to have surgery and needed 2 lots of antibiotics then had the op and needed more antibiotics. Then needed more a few weeks later. Hence why I tried to shift sinusitis 4 weeks myself and ended up giving up and the GP told me off and said sometimes we need them for a reason.

Oh, hope it gets sorted soon.

I was exactly the same before 2007, had re-current ear infections and it eventually led to perforrated (sp) eardrums. I had an op and have never had one since.

Hope they get to the root of the problem. Ear infections make you feel so shitty don't they?

Have a very un-Mumsnet hug
