I was out this morning....a young man passed me on a bicycle with a home made buggy on the back.

Charming child, very charming scene. Then I thought is that really safe.?
The young man seemed to be riding a mixture of pavement and road , with great confidence.
I have seen similar contraptions before. Which left me a little worried. How about you?

I think that if a parent has decided to put their child in one then they have obviously decided it to be safe. Nobody is going to intentionally put their child is something they think is unsafe.

I have one of said contraptions (not homemade though). I don't use it that much and generally don't use it much on the roads as i am too lazy and take the car .

do you mean these?

I think they're fab!

madwomanintheattic · 09/05/2011 16:44

chariotcarriers.

in some places you get loads of homemade ones though - when we lived in germany, homemade 'kiddiecarts' behind bikes were ubiquitous, but the system of bike paths was far better, and tbh, drivers were shit hot at adhering to the priority laws so it was very safe.

we've always had a chariot, though. far too lazy to make one. Hmm and the home made ones won't go up mountains, on beaches, or have ski-kits that fit. Wink

You have to watch the bike to buggy conversion link. Fab engineering.
