...patronising in tone, inflexible in parenting style and choice, and irritating in parts?

I wonder if, as a first time mum without a clue as I was, it's seen as 'the law' tho, esp during the early days when there's a whole heap of other advice/ evidence/ choices / methods etc out there yet to be discovered... I think I found it didn't help me make informed choices but often told me 1 way to do it all, just wondered if others had similar experiences... Course it could have been hormones plus new-mum-terrified-ness... Needless to say it's in the back of the cupboard after we found the weaning 'advice' section...!
