yes I know its childish, but at this time of the day I wouldnt want to complain becuase its not unsociable hours etc, but its a bit annoying to have my ceiling vibrating....

this way if my loud music is annoying them, they will understand how I feel...

Might as well listen to something you like Grin

What have they got on?

And what will you be replacing it with?

yummybutterbiscuit · 07/05/2011 14:14

they have some sort of RnB music blasting, I have replaced it with an itunes genius playlist based on oasis, much nicer!

No that's just stupid and not very nice for your other neighbours.

Can't you have a word with them?

yummybutterbiscuit · 07/05/2011 14:18

is it ok if its not going to affect other neighbours? its a detatched tenement building, we have the basement, and our music loving neighbours have the first floor, so nobody else would be affected by it.

If it won't annoy anyone else YANBU.

dolldaggabuzzbuzz · 07/05/2011 14:40

YANBU. I once had neighbours who played absolutely shit 'dance music' all night long while I was trying to sleep. In the morning when they had gone to bed (they had no jobs), I would turn my speakers to the wall and educate them loudly with my favourite band at the time Marilyn Manson

AmazingBouncingFerret · 07/05/2011 14:44

Ahh crank up Rage against the Machine and be done with it.

AgentZigzag · 07/05/2011 14:50

YANBU. I would be just as petty do the same.

woollyideas · 07/05/2011 15:04

Why does it matter that it's not 'unsociable hours'. Don't you have a right to a degree of peace and quiet regardless of time of day? If it's loud enough to make you ceiling vibrate they should turn it down.

yummybutterbiscuit · 07/05/2011 15:09

UPDATE.....

after about an hour of competing music, I WON!!!! their music went off, and i was a gracious winner and turned my music down to a normal level. yaaaay!

pick your battles

i did

i saved my loud music for the times they were showing potential buyers around their house Wink. Speakers to the wall works very effectively

i was moving anyway so didnt care less

AgentZigzag · 07/05/2011 15:27

Woohoo Grin

They probably turned theirs down to have a listen to yours.

chrisonabike · 07/05/2011 15:33

VG. I wish I could do this to the Rhianna-loving scumbag next door but I'd affect the very polite and reasonable chap on my other side.

Why do the people who play their music the loudest have the most appalling taste?

DorisIsAPinkDragon · 07/05/2011 15:50

chrisonabike a quick word about why you're doing it as advanced warning to the very resonable bloke and you too could win the battle (if not the war)!

gotolder · 07/05/2011 16:07

We always put on "1912 overture" or something similarly loud when neighbour's "music" got too much to bear. For some reason classical music works like a charm to obtain a little peace.

TheMonster · 08/05/2011 11:56

I'm glad you won. Grin
