It can be very funny. My wife even likes it. (it is of course part scripted)

They upset Mayor Boris some years ago by tearing him to pieces when he appeared on the prog.
Boris got his own back by revealing the format of the programme.

I thought the geordie comedian was very funny last night. He did not let the main joker get a word in edgeways.

YANBU to like a TV programme, it's all about your taste, but YABU to say 'my wife even likes it' - she's is allowed to like things too you know Hmm

ScousyFogarty · 07/05/2011 11:46

It goes a bit against the grain because she does not do politics really; BB
would not be offended so cool itBeaker Baby

Precisely Beaker - as if women have no humour or something.

Anyway - thought last night's episode was pretty good but would have liked to hear more from Victoria Coern.

And Alexander Armstrong is a good host too.

Anyone remember the toe-curling one when Bruce Forsyth was host? .... awful

Salmotrutta · 07/05/2011 11:47

Coren even.

ScousyFogarty · 07/05/2011 11:48

I thought the big geezer who fronted the prog last night did it well.

The original bloke lost the gig due to a massage parlour thing. WHY?

SybilBeddows · 07/05/2011 11:49

VC was good last night. They let her talk more than women are usually allowed to.

BitOfFun · 07/05/2011 11:50

I can't bear Bruce Forsyth in anything. I love Victoria Coren though- I remember her twitter fight with Michael Winner.

Salmotrutta · 07/05/2011 11:50

I think the scandal got in the way a bit - if you host a topical news show, you don't want to be in the news really for sleazy goings on?

Salmotrutta · 07/05/2011 11:51

Sorry - that was to Scousy regarding Deayton and his shenanigans.

SybilBeddows · 07/05/2011 11:57

VC gets better and better.

FluffyMummy123 · 07/05/2011 11:58

are you some kind of alien scousy?
try using google

ScousyFogarty · 07/05/2011 12:02

Is Victoria Coren Alan Corens offspring? She gets on a lot of things. Her dad was very funny in his way.

I have mixed feeling about Brucie; But when he froned the show he was bril;

I saw a headline about Deayton today I think he is going to be in a film

Salmo...I take the poiont; the Beeb founder Reith would not be impressed by too much massage parlour talk. (Not even ice cream parlour) Joking apart John reith was a bril guy in his day. A real leader.

baby ?
Hmm

SybilBeddows · 07/05/2011 12:03

also it was because Hislop and Merton couldn't stand Deayton and loved taking the piss out of him about it, and he was visibly embarrassed, which was funny in a bullying sort of way but would have got old quickly. It would have meant either there would have been an elephant in the room every time they were talking about any sex scandal, or they would have been taking the piss out of him yet again.

SybilBeddows · 07/05/2011 12:05

VC and Giles Coren are Alan Coren's kids. There is a lovely intro about him they wrote together in The Essential Alan Coren. And a very sweet article he wrote about looking after then when they were babies.

ScousyFogarty · 07/05/2011 12:07

Women , Men and humour? Its a big subject. Almost as big as women, men and violence. ... or should women and men use the same toilets?

are you some kind of ipod, icod? (Or just offensive for the sake of it) Try 3 months at aTory Part funded charm school....Eric Pickles MP is the main
teacher

Lets return to non-slanderous humour.

I think Victoria Wood and Jo Brand are funny in different ways.

Brand dislikes men in the way that Jim Davidson dislikes women (Why did he keep marrying them?)

Actually Jim D has a serious side. He has written a play about an ageing
comedian .Anybody seen it? I am not sure, but I think he plays the lead

What are you Scousy? What do you want?

ScousyFogarty · 07/05/2011 12:22

Sybil, thank you for those pungent thoughts. Comedians do dislike each otherr on occasions, its an highly competitive game at the top.

Baby, well it is easier to rhyme than muppet, and why pray do you think you are a muppet.. ? Talking of which I rated The Muppet Show...BBdid not get the joke.

I assume you are all too young to remember Phyllis Diller? (Sort of Doddy with real bite.)

he's not funny, he's a very naughty boy.

it's ok, the football is on soon

look, scousy - footie! you like that don't you?

now that's sexism but blatant Wink

ScousyFogarty · 07/05/2011 12:27

I want you Showof hands, to jump out of your easy one-liner negativity; and become a cross between the positive Mickey Mouse and the upbeat
Michael Buble. just give positivity a try

GabbyLoggon namechanging again? That garbled moronic writing style is very familiar.....

ScousyFogarty · 07/05/2011 12:31

Well there are two different sexes who serve functions in creation; it would be a different world if there was only one gender.

Loyd Weber could write a musical on that theme....

BitOfFun · 07/05/2011 12:31

Did you find that poem about Diana, Scousy? You said you'd show me it.

ScousyFogarty · 07/05/2011 12:34

I am suprise that Chil1234 is writing Tory Party Polical Broadcasts on a Saturday....Syerly Cameron can give him the weekend off?

Joking apart I think Chil may be a Tory activist. (Which is different to a supporter)
