to want to go here for my 40th later this year for 3 nights....even though it is ridiculously expensive and I could probably spend that money over and over again

I have fallen in love with this place and I've so far talked myself out and let others talk me out of booking this about half a dozen times in the last couple of weeks

THose domes are lovely! Haven't looked at prices, but is this any cheaper? www.coldatnight.co.uk/
It's near me and I've been. Love it.

Those look lovely Cardi - they are actually a bit more expensive than the one I've looked at

Have you browsed the guardian travel section? THey usually have lots of top 10 type articles. You might find something along the same lines.

They look lovely. Do it, it's your 40th!

West coast of Scotland, near a loch....there will be biting midgies there from late May onwards, you won't be able to be outside from 6pm onwards. Trust me.

chelstonmum · 06/05/2011 21:10

As a west coast girl the midgie issue is not so bad. My husband and I have camped all over Scotland and only ever had one midgie attack in late July at Loch Lomond. A bite prone friend swears by Avons skin so soft insect repellent.

The surrounding area is lovely and with a bottle of fizz and some good company you would have a ball!

Grin Only...I'm a west coast girl...and thankfully the midges don't like me
