....if she hasn't had a baby & is only 29? Are the sizes really that different?

I'm buying her one because I love mine, and really want her to try one too as she has nightmarishly long, heavy & generally awful periods (has been to GP/hosp numerous times for various treatments:().

I would buy her one and see how she gets on with it I love mine and wish I'd known about them years ago.

Heavy periods? Get the larger one. even then it may not work as well as you hope. I've not got on well with a moon cup for heavy days but like it well enough for lighter beginning and end days.

Ooh I was thinking of getting dsd one when she moves in with us this year, she's 16 though so not sure if she'd appreciate it although I wish I had discovered them back then!

For anyone here who uses one, how do you actually get it in? Blush

I've tried about 4 different folds now, but just can't manage to get it in place at all. I never could manage with non applicator tampons either though so maybe these are just not for me (I know the mooncup sits lower than a tampon, but I still can't get it in far enough).

Sorry if thats TMI!

I use the c fold I think it's called - push it in and squeeze. Much easier if it's wet. I think there are some fold guides on youtube. I found it much easier to insert in a kind of squat (think hovering over loo position).

Have you trimmed the stem?

If anyone was to buy me a mooncup, I would be mortified to be honest. Confused

FourArms · 05/05/2011 20:24

Atwaroverscrabble - I actually wished there was some sort of plug you could get when I was younger.... almost exactly what the mooncup is!

Squeakytoy - she knows I've got one and is horrified by the idea of them. Hoping that if presented to her on a plate (or in a box :o) she might give it a try. We're close enough for mortification not to be an issue!
