Posh women have a cup hook screwed into their skulls. Can be hidden by a fringe or completely unscrewed for day-to-day looks.

On special occasions, they screw in the cup hook and hang a hat (or smurf shoe) off it.

SamCam wouldn't have the obligatory hook fitted. So no designers would let her wear their hats.
