DH wrote something along the lines of "feel sorry for Prince william, all that money and his wife still isnt as pretty as mine" A tad sick inducing, I know, but a work colleague of mine wrote underneath "you should have gone to specsavers"
IABU to be a tad annoyed at this? She is being a bitch, isnt she, I'm not just being silly? :(

Hmmm yes its just FB but thats an insult disguised as a 'joke'

allsquareknickersnofurcoat · 29/04/2011 16:24

Hec, I def wouldnt call her a friend. She often doesnt come out but as she has before DH felt obliged to agree to her friend request and cant really unfriend her now without causing offence... Its stupid really, if I didnt really on FB for keeping in touch with my nomadic family and friends I'd just delete the whole account.

Seems mumsnet is split Grin
Thanks ladies, though I'm not sure if I'm more or less annoyed now!!

ShoutyHamster · 29/04/2011 16:42

Just a crap bit of banter probably - but yes, bitchy!

However...she's opened herself up now for some close to the bone banter RIGHT back if you or your DH feel so inclined, and if she takes offence at anything you say in return she'll look like a huffy narna :)

So start your reply with a big roaring LOL!!! to show how hysterical you find her rapier-like wit, then think of a killer line to follow it up - you should be able to think of something that will annoy her Grin

ShoutyHamster · 29/04/2011 16:45

Try something like 'And there speaks the woman who truly NEVER got to go to the ball' with a lovely wink after it.

Just a leetle stab right back atcha BitchyBum :)

unsurevalentine · 29/04/2011 16:48

Its the sort of thing I would write on my sisters FB wall.

You are over thinking this far too much - the womens a bitch end of.

Just ignore it - its not worth getting hot and bothered about...have a G&T [cgrin]

dizzyde · 29/04/2011 16:52

id find it intimmidating and would be pissed!

NinkyNonker · 29/04/2011 16:56

If you are not real friends then yes, bitchy. But then I would never make that sort of comment to my friends either, more likely some sort of barf/vomit related comment!

allsquareknickersnofurcoat · 29/04/2011 17:10

He has deleted it :)

Yanbu, some people are plain rude... when i got married, let's say, my the end of the dancing at night, my bosoms had released a little from my corset... nothing too bad though... well next day I'm reading through our wedding book and one of dh's mates had wrote "great day, next time get a dress that fits" ... I was aghast, so was dh, even drunk I wouldnt be so rude... anyhow, moral of story, he's not a friend anymore, dump her!

DontGoCurly · 29/04/2011 17:17

YABU.

You see people love to hate that sort of 'I wuv you' showboating coupledom on FB. There are whole websites devoted to slagging it off....

The retort was quite funny IMO and I bet that was the polite version I'm afraid! She only posted what everyone else was thinking.

It's best to keep that stuff off FB as I'm afraid it just invites ridicule!

manticlimactic · 29/04/2011 17:20

I'd have replied with 'Shall I book you an appointment tomorrow?' Grin

jojowest · 29/04/2011 17:20

lol, you would delete your FB account for a comment written on someone elses FB

daft as a brush

whathow · 29/04/2011 17:25

YANBU she is being jokey but bitchy otherwise surely would have added - only joking - surely any decent nice person would. However like the "shall I book you an appointment tomorrow" but wouldn't add it just leave it.

GwendolineMaryLacey · 29/04/2011 17:27

That's bitchy, especially as the comment had nothing to do with you. You didnt write it. I'd have to write something back.

MerylStrop · 29/04/2011 17:29

Actually, she didn't say you were ugly or anything. Just not necessarily as good-looking as the future wife of the heir to the throne on her wedding day.

If you take the huff over this you are a loon.

allsquareknickersnofurcoat · 29/04/2011 17:32

lol, no jojo, not the one comment, I'm not that daft! Grin People on FB have irritated me over quite a few little things recently! Which is why I had a feeling I might be being a bit touchy :)

PS DH never writes anything like that normally! We're not one of those couples Blush

YANBU. Wow, thats rude of her!

DP made a joke on FB once (about visiting Italy and the number of prostitutes at the side of the road) and I replied, in kind. A FB "friend" of his then replied along the lines of suggesting I was a prostitute. Never met him. Not amused and directed him in the way of male prostitutes before blocking him.

shayshaysmum · 29/04/2011 20:29

Joke yes, funny, no..
Your oh was praising you up and then someone you dont know that well comes out with that... Why, funny if you are close enough to take the piss, but if not just plain insulting, spesh as it was said to your oh.

PedigreeChump · 29/04/2011 20:34

Rude of her. A friend or relative who you have banter with = fine. But surely it's only polite that you are civil about your work colleagues' partners on fb?

JojoLapin · 29/04/2011 20:53

That was such a corny thing to post from your husband in the first place...

usualsuspect · 29/04/2011 21:03

I would cringe if my dp dared to post anything like that

munkeychops · 29/04/2011 21:27

I'd take it as a joke to be honest, just write something witty back if it will make you feel better?

Vicky2011 · 29/04/2011 22:25

This is one of those things that really does depend who says it - from a good mutual pal of you both it would be harmless banter but not if you don't know her that well. I suspect she was trying to be funny rather than bitchy but I don't blame you for being pissed off!

virginiasmonalogue · 29/04/2011 22:28

I thinks she sounds like a right bitch and you should just write "fuck off" underneath it!... don't forget the ;-)

worm77daisy · 29/04/2011 22:34

Agree with munkeychops just write "he's been and got those rose tinted glasses"...
