for the sake of my DD (and probably lots of other Disney Princess-obsessed children) who don't expect a Queen to wear a hat (even if it is gold!). Grin

I know, we've gone to the trouble of a smiley and not a crown in sight [cangry]

missmyoldname · 29/04/2011 10:53

oh yes, I should have done a [cgrin] shouldn't I!

See, if you can't be bothered to wear one, why should the Queen? [cgrin]

DD told me this morning that KM would not be able to wear a tiara because she isn't the queen.
She was very disappointed when Prince Andrew visited her school. She told me he was just a very fat man in a suit. She was really expecting a crown, orb, sceptre and cloak.

Awww bless, those things weigh a tonne and she is 85yo!!

She and the DoE are bailing after the wedding so that protocol can be relaxed and everyone can really let their hair down. I think this is actually a good idea and very thoughtful, she has been to the most important bit, the wedding! She has had a lot of stick for this apparently but I can see why she has opted to do this.

gallicgirl · 29/04/2011 12:16

If I was Queen I'd wear my crown all the time just to rub people's noses in it remind people.

[cgrin]

I'd even wear it in the bath.

SybilBeddows · 29/04/2011 12:18

But they could make her a new one out of titanium. It is expensive but very light and can have a lovely shimmery finish.

LadyKaraStarbuckofThrace · 29/04/2011 12:44

Don't think it would be the same!

SoMuchToBits · 29/04/2011 12:45

Our Playmobil Queen wore a crown to our Royal wedding today - and the King!

Pennybubbly · 29/04/2011 13:02

Typical Liz, not getting into the spirit of things. I note that she did almost smile at one point though. Unless that was wind..

BlingLoving · 29/04/2011 13:02

If she wears a crown or tiara everyone else can (if entitled) so I suspect it's a good way to be sure Kate is only one blinged up!

HRHShoesytwoesy · 29/04/2011 13:03

yanbu dd won't believe me she is the queen(think she is pulling my leg sn or not)

Morloth · 29/04/2011 13:04

Me too gallicgirl and there would be no little chair with everyone else. I would be like Fuck that, go get me a throne, I is the Queen.

I bet she does wear a crown when she's in the bath with all those Knights, gallcgirl, and I bet she looks like this [cangry] when none of them can find the soap.

unsurevalentine · 29/04/2011 16:19

She shouls - at all times [cgrin]

ShoutyHamster · 29/04/2011 16:56

Me too [cgrin]

I would also mutter 'Orf with his head!!' just under my breath every now and again.

'Oh excuse me Your Majesty I'm afraid I didn't quite catch that'

'nuffink'

'Of course Ma'am'

[cgrin]
