to think an Orangutan can't live in 15 sq metres?

Ok, so it might only be a hypothetical orangutan at the moment but still... Posted yesterday to try and drum up new fans for the Facebook page for the company DH works for as they've pledged to buy a square metre of Rainforest in Borneo for every new fan they get over the next 30 days and I'm hoping for one of those "by the power of Mumsnet" sort of things... So far only Kreecher has answered my call for help, and she doesn't have Facebook so can't even get an extra metre out of her! Anyway, if anybody has got 30 seconds to spare and would like to help you just need to go to www.facebook.com/pages/Create-a-Goodlife/206041766078773 and click on the like button. If anybody has got any good ideas on how we could get the numbers up enough for my hypothetical orangutan to stretch out and get comfortable, please share, me and the kids have got quite attached to him now!

Oh that would be great Pixie, as soon as t'other half gets home from work I'll nag him to to a proper update.

Yeah, we've got 25 sq metres now - the DC's are very happy! (Slightly worried that there "can we go and visit the orangutan, pleeease" may get a little tiresome shortly though!)

I used to work in a zoo and we were regularly bombarded by animal rights activists. What a lot of people never realise when complaining about the amount of space some animals have is that in the wild they don't use much more.

A lion for instance; without the need to hunt wouldn't roam much further than a few metres. It's often not as cruel as people think it is although there are obvious exceptions where it IS cruel.

Ahh bless Bottleofbeer, I've sort of made the Orangutan up... It was more of an effort to get more rainforest bought rather than a plea for more space for the imaginary ape to build an extension! Thanks to for the extra clicks though, they're past 50 metres now. If some friends of friends see it and click too it could get to a worthwhile number!
