To book a holiday 5 1/2 weeks after my due date?

This is DC3 and my thinking is at worst baby will be 3 weeks old it will be nice for me and my dc to have a break from constant baby things.

If I didnt go DP would be in work and I would be looking after 3 DC where if I book the weekend away Dp will be able to look after the older two meaning I get more rest.

If I am not feeling well I can stay and relax in the hotel and as activities are 5 minute walk away I can come home at any time leaving DP with the older two so I can relax.

So overall I think it may mean that if I want to go and do activities I can but if I am tired I can use the holiday to relax.

If something goes wrong I can stay at home and DP and the children can go while I have a break.

It is only a weekend away but family are telling me it is a bad idea WDYT?

If in the country you are in then fine. If aborad wait a few weekas more. need to allow two weeks for overduness and then 6 for recovery from section so that you would be covered by travel insurance.

Not saying you will be late of hace cs but it allows for it

What bronze said.

I'd give it a bit longer in case you have a cs. IME it takes about 8-10 weeks to feel properly mended and healed up.

CS is what I was concerned about I have been very lucky and had two good births so I have no idea what a recovery from a csec would be like, but I thought if I went two weeks over ended up with a csec then DP and my DC could go while I relax and have a break at home. Which I would happily pay for if I was in a lot of pain so I thought book it and then decide whether I will go closer to the time. I think I will book it and then if I am unwell use it as a break from my older two thank you all Smile.
