Car salesperson very long sorry

I ordered a new car in the middle of March as the lease agreement with my current one expires this month. The sales guy I spoke to was initially efficient and printed off a sheet within 2 minutes of me sitting down with all the details. We placed an order for the car and was told that there was a factory waiting time and it should be in stock the 8th of April.

The 8th of April arrived with no contact whatsoever from the garage so I phoned them to be told it still wasnt in stock and we were looking at another 8-10 days. Waited another 11 days still no word from them so I phoned them again to be told it was in stock and I needed to go sign some paperwork. We went in to sign the paperwork last Thursday but the sales guy I was dealing with was on a day off and the person sorting out the paperwork couldnt tell me when the car would be ready to collect, but would get my sales guy to phone me the following day when he was in.

When we checked our bank account on Friday it turns out that the company we lease from has put through a direct debit for the full settlement for the car I am currently driving which is over £4000! We were told that the garage would settle this as the excess money from the current car is going as part of the deposit towards the next one. I had to phone and speak to the sales person AGAIN and try and get this sorted. He was very abrupt on the phone like I was harassing him and basically said there was nothing he could do till tuesday and we needed to contact our bank (which we were doing anyway). And could I organise my insurance to collect the car tuesday afternoon.

I organised the insurance and phoned Tuesday afternoon to see if it would be ready and he gave me a whole garbled conversation about how he was contacting the finance company and some mistake had been made and he needed to sort this out (it was all very vague I think he was just wittering to justify not calling and make himself seem busy). I got off the phone still not knowing when I can collect my car.

AIBU to phone and ask to speak to the sales manager as I feel that the service is lacking. I know that its not the sales person that the car wasnt there earlier and dont have a problem with that at all. The problem I have is the lack of information and me having to phone every single time. Also the fact that we got charged the settlement amount really rankles. I still dont know when I can pick up my new car. Im just not sure if I am being irrational as I have a heavy cold, chesty cough and am not sleeping well Blush

Thanks for reading sorry its long x

Ring someone higher up i.e the sales manager, considering you are spending a lot of money you are being messed around.

I'd call the manager and demand this is all settled by close of business today as they are mucking you about.
