Ocado Monthly delivery is £10.99 a month so approx £2.50 a time for me.

GypsyMoth · 26/04/2011 13:38

from £2 50 £4 at asda!!

ocado is NOTHING special anyway

chicletteeth · 26/04/2011 13:51

Can't you just buy the yearly pass for 39.99 which gives you as many deliveries as you like in one year?
Much cheaper way of doing it!

brookeslay · 26/04/2011 13:52

I have a mid week pass 2.99 per month

wannaBe · 26/04/2011 13:52

annual pass is over £100.

chicletteeth · 26/04/2011 13:53

Just checked and they got rid of it!
STill 10.99 a month is ok isn't it?

NoWayNoHow · 26/04/2011 13:53

I've got an Ocado delivery pass for £3.99 a month (unlimited deliveries any time), so you certainly don't have to be spending £6.99 a go. BTW, that's why we don't use Tesco any more - because any remotely convenient delivery slot was £6.99, so that's just the norm...

chicletteeth · 26/04/2011 13:55

I must have just got it in the knick of time. Up until very recently, you could pay up front a fee of 39.99 and get a years worth of deliveries.

Did wonder how they managed to do it so cheaply.

Still £110 for the year isn't too bad (just over £9 a month), but appreciate it's a lot up front.

SardineQueen · 26/04/2011 13:55

just got ad through waitrose deliver now free over £50 for all time slots. don't know if this is all areas. am going to give them a go (been with ocado a couple years)

Bramshott · 26/04/2011 14:02

Are you in the house most of the time? I can usually get a delivery on Wednesday lunchtime / afternoon for 99p or £1.99.

Or get Waitrose Deliver - they're free!

TheSkiingGardener · 26/04/2011 14:06

WaitroseDeliver here. Free over £50 and SO nice!

Insomnia11 · 26/04/2011 14:06

I can only get Ocado not Waitrose Deliver. I have the delivery pass and worked out it is good value if you have at least 2 deliveries a month, we average 3 so it works out quite well.

impty · 26/04/2011 14:08

Sainsburys is free is you spend £100

CharlotteBronteSaurus · 26/04/2011 14:09

I use sainsburys
1hr time slots - tues, weds, and thurs are free if you spend £100 or more. £3.50 otherwise.
drivers mostly on time, and if not you get a tenner off your next shop, even if they're just a few minutes late. never been more than 30mins late.
the food is really fresh - the use by dates are much better than i can find in store. nothing but praise for them. i am an ex-ocado customer.

gillybean2 · 26/04/2011 14:10

YOu have to hold out for it. Ocado will offe you their monthly delivery deal for £9.99 but if you ignore (and dont' order) they will reduce it down. I got it for £3.99 for a 12 month fixed deal. I can order as many times as I like each month for any delivery slot that's available (minimum order of £40 is the only proviso)

So just hold out and you'll get the £3.99 offer in less than a month.

ChestnutSoup · 26/04/2011 14:17

The delivery pass is good value as you only have to spend £40 a time - so now I get two small deliveries a week, rather than one big one. So it works out about £1 a delivery. And I don't ever have to pop out for anything (like milk) because I now use the Ocado app on my phone as a shopping list, then checkout when I've spent the right amount and can be home at the right time.

So it's worth it for me.

Have you looked at Sainsburys. They used to do free delivery on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, but I think the required spend was quite high.
