Am I the only one not to have done ANY cleaning since the lovely weather started?

House is a tip. Have spent the last 4 days in the garden/local park.
Keep thinking its such a shame to do housework when the sun is shining, but if this weather continues, I'm going to need Kim and Aggie to sort it out for me Grin!

YANBU

we've had about 2.5 weeks of sun and warm temps and i've done the bare minimum, advantage is that we're not inside to make it dirty

twenty5 · 24/04/2011 18:48

nope! not at all! have spent every waking minute outdoors this week with DD! house is a pig sty to say the least, i mean i have done the 'bare essentials' of dishes and general tidyness but as far as ironing, hoovering, daily clothes washing etc has gone to pop. lol. secretly though, im loving it!!! :D

sphil · 24/04/2011 18:48

same here!

FakePlasticTrees · 24/04/2011 18:48

nope - I've not done any either - it was rather embarrassing earlier as the man next door locked himself out when gardening at the front, and had to come through our house to climb over the fence to his back garden (he'd left his back door open).

It's not like you need to clean when it's hot though, as you spent all your time outdoors and don't see the mess...

JiminyCricket · 24/04/2011 18:49

it seems like a crime to spend time at home doing anything other than sit in a deckchair in the garden and reading

bittersweetvictory · 24/04/2011 18:51

YANBU, ive spent the last week in the garden weeding and mowing before we get a down pour again, make the best of the good weather cuz it sure as hell isnt going to last so sod the housework, its still going to be there when it rains.

indiechick · 24/04/2011 18:52

Mine's a pig sty, I'm saving it for Tues when the kids go back to school. No point doing anything before then.

georgie22 · 24/04/2011 18:53

Only since the nice weather started? Blimey you should see our house - the essentials get done but the rest gets left. We've got to spend tomorrow tidying the tip that is currently the spare room. To be honest I can't be arsed! And life's too short to spend any significant amount of time cleaning.

sorrytosayivebeenthere · 24/04/2011 18:59

I'm the same, My whole house needs hoovering but even getting the hoover out in this weather makes me sweat like a pig, Kids being off school doesn't help as I just can't get on with it when they are here.

Roll on wed when they go back to school, as much as I love this nice weather it would be nice to have a cooler day so I can do what I need to do without sweating my arse off.

gkys · 24/04/2011 19:17

YANBU our house is a tip, think paddling pool and sand pit, have taken to make dc srtip at the back door to stop my kitchen looking like a synthetic beach, although i am guilty of ironing outside in my bikini top and shorts Grin

shakey1500 · 24/04/2011 19:24

YANBU, mine's a mess. The only thing I've done is wash clothes and hung them out to dry. I'm trying to ignore the mess/dirt that's slowly building up but we live near a BEACH! Would be rude not to. :)

fastedwina · 24/04/2011 19:29

glad I'm not the only one then. Nothing for 2 weeks !

Clockchange · 24/04/2011 19:38

I'm the same! Also the kids still have school books that were supposed to be read during hols, I realised today I can't find ds's PE kit and trying to remember whether he brought it home on last day of term. My dd's logo'd school cardigan has gone missing tooHmm I'll drag myself away from the sun and start on all this tonight though, can't stand all that last minute rushing around the night before they go back to school! This lovely weather has thrown us all out of routine.

HipHopOpotomus · 24/04/2011 19:56

I just fit down on my hands and knees and scrubbed the bathrooms lower regions. Never done it like that before. I sweated and huffed and puffed - 39+3 pg and trying to bring on labour. Need a nap now but do feel pleased with job done.

Nb if I wasn't 39 weeks pg I'd not be doing this!

pizzadelivery · 24/04/2011 20:19

Ummmm...my house is spotless, sunlight shows the dust and makes me feel ike a slattern Smile

I am on holidays though, work in a school, so have washed sofa covers, hoovered behind everything, scrubbed bedrooms, bathroom and kitchen. Sorted garage, loft and shed.

Also had bbqs etc, have to do something with 2 weeks off!

Am I really sad cos I get pleasure from all the washing and floors that have dried in the lovely sunshine?Blush

If it helps then I have had lots of free time to clean enjoy as the stroppy teen refuses to leave his room? Hmm

TheVisitor · 24/04/2011 20:25

I've done hardly anything too, and my house is a tip. I don't care. Grin

Mind you, I have done lots of work (finally) in our front garden, and it's starting to resemble a garden rather than jungle.
