GRR! DH and I had night out together (doesn't happen often) about half 11 he comes back into pub from having cigarette and says "we're going home in 5 minutes, brother (taxi driver) taking us home" - no consultation or anything but eventually agree ("we'll get to spend some time together at home" bla bla). As soon as we get home he flops into bed! If he'd said "I'm knackered, can we go home?" that would have been fine, but now I'm home, annoyed and wishing I was still out. It happens so rarely, didn't expect to be on mumsnet moaning at half 12. :(

Just a rant, feel free to ignore.

aw poor love. My husband always calls time on social events way before me. Pisses me off no end. I feel for you x

Irritating beyond belief, but it's horrible when you feel so tired you need to go to bed.

It's just such a let down though.

Have another drink.

Did you go anywhere nice?

The thing is he didn't tell me he needed to go to bed, he said "let's go home and spend time together" meaning listen to music, chat etc. Yes, we had a lovely night, just a bit peed off now. Lovely meal, nice pub etc. - I guess just would have liked to be consulted before arrangements to go home were made... never mind. Small fry I guess.

Next time drop him off home and then stay in the taxi back into town Wink

Mind, this is from the woman who tended to stumble in key-less and annoying at 5am, just as exdh was pulling on his walking boots for a stride up a mountain.

These days I rarely get a lie-in. Enjoy your wild 3am times while you can!

Its not the going home early that would annoy me, I would deeply resent being told we were leaving though. If he said "I'm really tired can we call it a night?" then fine. But him nipping out and arranging a lift home with no discussion is rude and that would really piss me off!

Its not what was done but how it was done that would annoy me!
