Because they need a grown up to say 'bedtime DD, you're very tired.' and then escort them to bed. How old is she?

Imnotaslimjim · 20/04/2011 20:08

The joys of toddlers eh? My DD screams and screeches her way through the day, especially when shes bored or tired. Mouse has it right though, when they get too much to handle you simply say "bedtime" sort them out and get them into bed. Its almost certain that they'll be asleep before you leave the room!

NorthernGobshite · 20/04/2011 20:09

littlebrownmouse I had done that and asked her to go for a wee....then meltdown ensued. She's 6 and horrible when she's tired! Like her bloody father.....!!

"No sleep mummy! No tired! Zzzzzzzzzzzzzz"
Been there (last night in fact).

littlebrownmouse · 20/04/2011 20:17

Ah you see, nobody below the age of about 13 should be asked to do stuff like weeing and going to bed, they need telling and funnily enough so does my DH! "DH, you've been very tired today and we all know it, it's now 10.30pm/11pm/12.30/2 in the morning, you're asleep on the settee and Jules Holland finished hours ago. Please come/go to bed now.'

littlebrownmouse · 20/04/2011 20:19

Just to clarify, DH is NOT below the age of 13!

NorthernGobshite · 20/04/2011 20:23

littlebrownmouse he is a man however and therefore probably functions at age 13?!
