He works away Mon-Fri and although I absolutely hated the thought of it, now I worry about it changing. I've gotten so used to my routine - and sleeping without snoring - that it's really ok. I love him and our relationship is a-ok. Friends think it's the beginning of the end! Get him back! Quick!

Honey, I have loads of friends who love it....we have got into the groove and it works really well, but we do resent when things change and suddenly DP is home more. I think of it as "the best of both worlds" Grin

DH has started a new job recently and has done three or four nights a week away since then. He's pretty much trained now so will go down to zero to one nights a week away instead.

I was just getting used to having a tidier house and the bed to myself! On some of his away nights I've actually gone to sleep at about 11.30 and woken up at 7.00. The best nights of sleep I've had for years!I felt like I could conquer the world afterwards. It had to coincide with the children having a good night of course!

Mind you he's here tonight so he can take the dog out and lock up so it's not all bad Smile

DP has been away training last week and this week and he was told today that because his store isn't open yet he is being sent to another random part of the country for another 2 weeks, possibly longer :( I've got used to him being away but i do miss him and enjoy his company when he's home.

I have to brace myself when DP comes back home if he's working away. I get to like being a starfish in bed. I always have a 10 min slot when he returns where I roll my eyes and think 'grrr'. Usually cos be dumps his laundry, gets the kids super giddy and then goes to do a smelly poo in the loo ( I never ever do that).

I had to laugh at this, I feel the same! I feel quite indignant now my husband is around in the week this week, I'm used to our weeks away and nice weekends doing family things. I wouldn't recommend it for everyone, and I'm not sure it will suit us in the long-term, but if you like your independence but like to have a bit of passion on the weekends, it's not that bad an arrangement.
