to be absolutely livid that my DD has to go to a school where...

...the majority of parents smoke - I always see them lighting up as soon as they get in the car. I mean, I really thought that everyone in the whole world would know that it's a bad idea to subject your kids to second hand smoke. Loads of them are also extremely overweight & they do other really annoying things like drive to school even though (for the ones that live down my road anyway) it's less than 5 minutes walk.
I am really angry as I don't want my kids going to a school where the overwhelming majority are brought up with no these values.

But I'm assuming you don't do those things? Also children of smoking/overweight parents aren't necessarily going to be dreadful! My ds1's best friends parents chain smoke and don't really live a healthy lifestyle, But they are kind and decent people and their son is adorable...

Homeschooling is definitely preferable. That way the children can be brainwashed, and by the time they start realising that there are other options they are at the rebellious stage and will definitely start smoking - probably weed and moving all the way up to heroin.
