If your toddler has a high temperature then none of you go to a party do you?

I mean, dh is saying that ds and I should go and dd (poorly) is fine at home with him.

But I feel like we've got a lurg in the house and if we go we could just hand it over to our friends. Or is that kind of healh-hysterical?

I never know what makes sense in this situation. The rest of us feel fine and we're keeping the temp down with calpol etc.

If you're going to stay in every time someone has the lurgy, then you won't be going out for the next few years at all. Of course it is alright for you and DS to go!

Seems a bit OTT to keep healthy people away from the party. I'm with your DH

Longstocking2 · 16/04/2011 11:30

Good, I just never know about the sickness etiquette, always baffles me.
Thanks!

I would go with the healthy child as there is no guarantee they will come down with it. There's no reason for life to stop completely when 1 child is ill.

Pancakeflipper · 16/04/2011 11:32

If D&V I'd probably keep all away. But a temp? Well it could be anything and not contagious.. If you know what it is very likely to be then judge from that ( chickenpox flying about?). So I'd probably opt for 1 adult staying to look after poorly child and others going out.

yes you go - but leave ill child at home with a carer

well people get to still go out

nickelbaalamb · 16/04/2011 11:49

she'll be fine with your DH.
you and DS enjoy the party!

lurkerspeaks · 16/04/2011 12:22

Leave the sick child behind. It is good of DH to offer to stay at home and let you go and enjoy the fun.

This happened to one of my friends at Christmas. Her little DS was the 'well' one. He had an absolute blast at the party as he is normally totally overshadowed by his dominant big brother. It was really nice to see him having such a good time... he still talks about it!

If D&V all stay away
