It's polarised Mumsnet in many ways.

kungfupannda - Yes but buggies don't pervade the whole of women's lives.

Bloody well do. Have you SEEN the number of angry people on the "two abreast buggies" thread?

And did you ever meet my NCT group for that matter?

niceday · 14/04/2011 21:11

Kungfu,
I thought hiding must be useful for people with "clicking obsession", ie those who have to click on a thread or section... Now they can click almost on it and hey presto- trouble averted

Onky · 14/04/2011 21:12

Hecate - there are lots of things in the feminism section that would gain a bigger audience if they were said elsewhere. Now maybe you aren't all talking about feminism at all, but if you are why don't you discuss it in context: work, family, pregnancy, relationships, how to bring up boys etc.

TandB · 14/04/2011 21:13

Oh, does it stop you from clicking on it? I thought it would just disappear from the list.

Goblinchild · 14/04/2011 21:13

I hide a lot of topics that I'm not interested in because when I click on active, it's not full of stuff that's spam in my eyes. So I see a whole spread of what I like.
Hiding an individual thread is also good, because I have a poor memory for bad stuff. When I hide a thread, I forget about it completely.

HecateQueenOfTheNight · 14/04/2011 21:14

Ah, I get you. I totally misunderstood.

Think it's time I took my arse off to bed. Blush

niceday · 14/04/2011 21:16

if you can link to a bunfight in the changing bags for sale section I will vote for that one!

Well, if there were bunfights there, I would not even consider them to be worst! I'd go there just to watch.

Niceday - shall we namechange and start one?

Portoeufino · 14/04/2011 21:18

I'd agree with your point if the prolific Feminist posters ONLY posted in that topic and other threads were missing that point of view. But that is not the case at all as far as I can see. I recognise many of the posters on many other threads. And I do go in there so I know who they are.

niceday · 14/04/2011 21:19

I think it's good that the fem section is separate.
They can post there without being stoned by others.
And nothing prevents them from posting elsewhere as well.

niceday · 14/04/2011 21:20

Yeah, let's go there, I would not even namechange!

TandB · 14/04/2011 21:21

I will accuse you of being a bad mum for not using a particular changing bag and you tell me that my changing bag hates me.

SueSylvesterforPM · 14/04/2011 21:23

I get the impression some people see it as a darkest MN that only the brave dare tread.

get more involved in stuff it seems less scary

I comment there people don't agree always,
I won't always agree with them. on a forum is a great place for people to share contrasting opinions.

there will always be people who ruin it for others but you'd find the on any forum.

however if OP is a troll GTFO!!!

Portoeufino · 14/04/2011 21:25

I have a lot on there I think. Stuff that has challenged my preconceptions. Particularly important as I want great things for my daughter and her generation. And I like a good ruck constructive discussion with Dittany Wink

can you paint a chicken's nails ?

MigratingCoconuts · 14/04/2011 21:40

Their combs are controlled by two separate gene interactions...

ChickensHaveNoEyebrows · 14/04/2011 21:41

Silkies have black skin and five toes. They're also annoyingly stupid and honk like geese

MigratingCoconuts · 14/04/2011 21:41

eggy, probably about as successfully as you can smack a bit of lippy on them.

niceday · 14/04/2011 21:41

Do chicken need changing bags?

SomethingSuper · 14/04/2011 21:42

I wish I knew something about chickens so I could be involved in a nice thread tonight.

MigratingCoconuts · 14/04/2011 21:42

niceday, dare you to start that as a thread question...it HAS to be as sane as some of the others we've seen tonight!
