I used to LOVE watching TWS. It was an intelligent, refreshing substitute for that twatwaffle Jeremy Kyle.

Now though, the "debates" have seriously gone downhill with such hot topics for discussion as:

"DOES MARRIAGE MAKE MEN BORING?"
"DO ETERNAL OPTIMISTS GET ON YOUR WICK?"
DO SUCCESSFUL FRIENDS SUCK?"

Of-course they DO still discuss some of the more prevellant issues in our society but I honestly wonder what the researchers are on these days and the search for "special guests" gets more desperate by the week.

I stopped watching months ago but still see the discussion topics on FB and nothing so far has made me inclined to tune in again.

Gone downhill?

If it went any more downhill, it'd be festering under the earth's crust.

He started at the bottom in my opinion so cannot go much further downhill

Snorbs · 14/04/2011 10:57

Has it ever been "uphill" enough for it to move "downhill" from?

I've only ever caught glimpses of it but it's never struck me as anything particularly edifying or insightful. I've always seen it as a rather tawdry cross between Kilroy and Trisha.

BertieBotts · 14/04/2011 10:58

It's dire. They choose the most contentious topics, and then MW changes his opinion several times on the same topic. And the 'experts' are usually ridiculous.

Winds me up as well as there always seems to be questions like "Should you have sex just to keep the peace?" and "Is breastfeeding in public wrong?"

PunkPixie · 14/04/2011 10:59

Snorbs I really used to enjoy it. I thought the questions asked were interesting and stimulating but now it's a load of rubbish. I stopped watching when they asked after te wayne rooney hooker thing if people should encourage their daughters to make money as prostitues because it was a more stable career choice. Le sigh...

It's a bit like AIBU but with cameras... Grin

There are just the same inane and insane questions but perhaps those are the ones that people want to talk about? I don't watch the show often; sometimes the topics are interesting, sometimes not, just like here.
