Has anyone done it? How has it gone?

I have been thinking of setting up my own company for a while and know lots of people for whom the family business idea has worked well but would value some of your thoughts and comments.

No. DH is in a family business and I find it really hard from my point of view. There is always something to do, and meetings to attend. We get nothing positive back from the business yet, and probably won't for quite a while.
I find myself resenting the business and the amount of time DH spends on it as well as his full time job. As a result I'm less happy to spend lots of free time with his family, as it seems he's always with them for business reasons anyway. I'd like us and the DC's to have more quality time.
Sorry to be blunt, but that's what I feel about family businesses.Sad

The best way to fall out with family and friends is to do business together.
