They are awful.

I am very tall and thin and they make me look like a chubby shortarse.

Plus (and this is the real point I think) I remember wearing one walking tipsy up some stairs and trop on the front of the dress, causing me to stumble and headbutt my own knee.

So, if you want to wear one and look like a boho throwback, be careful.

Ooooh, I love the swish of a good maxi, whether tis jersey or silk or cotton.

But most I love that a maxi takes 10 secs to put on and there you are, dressed, and NOT BORING.

Also, they go with flats, unlike most clothes at the moment, and undone hair. Adding to the easy but elegant - ie rushed and lazy - vibe.

I am wearing a Tosho egg-shaped silk racerback one in dark blue with a white vest beneath. Beneath peek very strappy Primark brown leather gladiators (only £12, real leather, not bad eh).

I am fat as a barrel and I rock.

I adore Maxi Dresses, I think they are fabulous, and I'm pretty short 5' 1", not that slim, (size 14) and pretty big boobs, 34G, and I look HOT! Maybe you haven't found one for you? They can look damn sexy on.
