To mind DP using DS's NEW lunchbag to transport frozen sausages?

Because I do mind... I really, really mind and can't quite tell why I mind SO MUCH.

DP's taking my Mum home after a weekend stopping with us - about 50 mile journey... has some speciality sausages he wants to deliver to his Mum and Dad on his return journey.

I bought the lunchbag for DS today... after he's wanted one for months, and it's HIS and it's for LUNCHES and it's NEW and I don't want yukky frozen sausages hauled about in it... Angry

I also know this is SO TRIVIAL it's laughable

SO... AIBU???

ANGRY HOT INSIDE KIND OF MINDING Hmm

Is it one off those insulated ones? If so YABU. dont yu have a picnic bag he could use? Surely he could wrap the sausages in a carier bag?

Is your DS your only or first child?

SkinittingFluffyBunnyBonnets · 10/04/2011 20:52

Sorry for weird typing....I have a problem with my hands...I hurt my fingers.

wabbit · 10/04/2011 20:56

Oh poor fingers...

It is insulated Blush

I know I'm being unreasonable... but I MIND

I wrapped sausages in about 5 carrier bags Blush so they would not
contaminate thaw in the lunchbag

Grin hehe! I think i'd mind too! yanbu

wabbit · 10/04/2011 20:57

DS is 13 Years younger than DD... he's 5

wabbit · 10/04/2011 20:58

Oh thank you Dred... I feel calmer just hearing that Grin

Have him wrap them up and then put them in a plastic bag of some sort, then no sausage will touch the new lunch bag!

wabbit · 10/04/2011 21:03

Have done that... very thoroughly... still mind

but find it funny too Grin

I was a bit precious of a perfectionist with my 1st baby...so I understand your problem with it even though DS is not your first.....bu f you have DP wrap them well it's fine...the bag is still virgin....as far as lunches and school goes anyway! Grin

Snobear4000 · 10/04/2011 21:03

I am very envious of the OP as I wish my life was so free of worries, work, chores and issues that I could get a head of steam up about a lunchbox. You must be very lucky indeed!

BeakerTheMuppetMuppet · 10/04/2011 21:06

i would be really pissed off too, especially if DS hadn't had the chance to use it yet. he now effectively has a 2nd hand lunch bag doesn't he?

but IABU too Grin

wabbit · 10/04/2011 21:13

Snobear perhaps a simplistic view of things

Totally with Beaker on the second hand thing though - we are right and unreasonable Grin

Bairyheaver · 10/04/2011 21:28

Sorry, but I think you are being a bit of a loon.

FunnysInTheGarden · 10/04/2011 21:29

YABU and a tad nuts. Jesus, they are just sausages and it is just a lunch bag. And Snobear am with you on the inane triviality of the OP's post. Really get a grip.

marmaladetwatkins · 10/04/2011 21:31

I am crying with LOLter. This is hilarious stuff!

poopnscoop · 10/04/2011 21:34

Is this a wind up?
Surely this pettiness is not for real?

Merryleggs · 10/04/2011 21:34

It's not about the lunch bag though, is it? It's about DH trekking 50 miles on a Sunday evening and then going back via HIS PARENTS TO GIVE THEM SOME FRIKKIN SAUSAGES. WHY DO THEY NEED THE SODDING SAUSAGES???????

And breathe.

Flisspaps · 10/04/2011 21:34

Stick the lunch bag in the washing machine when DH gets back, that way there'll be no factory or shop germs in there either Wink

FunnysInTheGarden · 10/04/2011 21:36

if its about the sausages, then thats a different matter.

SkinittingFluffyBunnyBonnets · 10/04/2011 21:38

Is it in fact about the sausages Wabbit?

wabbit · 10/04/2011 21:48

No... not the sausages per se, it's the second hand/not lunch/not his to use nature of his assumption that I wouldn't mind his using the new lunchbag belonging to DS

I'd prefer dp to be here - but Mother did need taking home and I'm grateful he's doing this job for me.

Am a bit cheesed he's off to take the sodding sausages to his parents and not winging his way home.

mostly miffed about the assumption that the lunchbag was up for grabs for any old job

OP posts:
wabbit · 10/04/2011 21:50

I have admitted to triviality [hands up emoticon] Grin

OP posts:
FunnysInTheGarden · 10/04/2011 22:12

then yes YABU to be so precious about the lunchbag. Do you need other more pressing things to fill your time? How about a job.............Grin
