Was I BU to cough in a childrens' play area? I was sitting near the edge watching DS when I got a little coughing fit. I have had this cough since I stopped smoking 7 weeks ago and there is no doubt it is caused by that, not by a virus/bacteria. Two women were walking past to leave and one of them had this disgusted look on her face and muttered loudly about me coughing in a park. I was a bit Confused

I wasn't near any children, or anyone really. I covered my mouth and it's 100% not transferable. Should I avoid places where children go until it's gone? (which, the way things look now, will be weeks :( )

Death by firing squad for you I'm afraid!

Well done for giving up smoking!

Bogeyface · 09/04/2011 14:45

You could have had a bit of crisp go the wrong way or something!

Aslong as you know you arent contagious then I see no reason to let it bother you. Stupid women!

Bogeyface · 09/04/2011 14:46

Sorry that should say "You could have had a bit of crisp go the wrong way or something, people who arent ill get coughing fits all the time!"

usualsuspect · 09/04/2011 14:46

Lol ..oh my

Meglet · 09/04/2011 14:47

Next time take some fake blood for extra points. That should give them something to whinge about.

worraliberty · 09/04/2011 14:50

What Meglet said...and mutter something about TB taking ages to clear up Grin

LaWeasel · 09/04/2011 14:51

haha

Yes, Eric you must. Splatter ketchup up around whilst keeling over dramatically!

Very odd though. It's normally pretty obvious when someone's ill isn't it? runny nose, red eyes etc. Not just coughing which could be loads of non-contagious things!

washnomore · 09/04/2011 14:55

In a park? Bonkers. Them, not you.

Grin I wasn't pissed off because it seemed so bonkers, but I thought maybe it was just me. One woman lit up a fag which I thought was worthy of a few Hmms (It's quite small and busy, on the seafront) but nobody was muttering at her

Always remember, other people are just weird. Always. That way any looks I get I can blame on their oddness and not my own...

TheMonster · 09/04/2011 17:54

YOu coughed in a park? Shame on you!

You should have let rip with a good loud fart as well. That would have given them something to moan about.

BlooferLady · 09/04/2011 18:06

People are ghastly, aren't they? Poor you. I hope she gets rotten hayfever and splutters her way through summer.

giraffesCantDanceWhileSober · 09/04/2011 18:09

I started coughing at a softplay today. Should I be taken out the back and shot too?

I would call you unreasonable to smoke at a playground by muttering loudly under my breath as I move away shooting dagger eyes at you, but instead I say congratulations for giving up and have fun taking your DCs back to the playground as often as you like. Grin

thederkinsdame · 09/04/2011 18:25

giraffes - you sound like me. I would no doubt be put up against the wall and shot, too, for the crime of illegally distributing germs in a PFB zone' Grin
