Feel free to ignore me as this is not AIBU but I was here anyway and can hardly contain my excitement!

My mum and dad are on their way with a big trampoline for my 2 ds, age 2 and 4. They've been playing on the same one at my neighbour's and I thought I'd get them one.

The weather is lovely, my mum and dad are fantastic, my boys are great and I'm full of the joys today! (on Mother's day, they emptied the entire contents of the wardrobe all over their bedroom, got purple glittery glue all over the carpet then stuck pantyliners all over the room! Whilst I was peeling grapes of course!)

So I'm just feeling in a great very optimistic mood! I'm hoping to be able to sit down for a bit while they bounce!

Sorry this is not AIBU!! Forgive an errant excitable newbie and hope you all have a great day!

(meant to say, have never started a thread before so be gentle with me!)

Lovely...we got a new one a couple of weeks ago....a word of warning...they're not advised for kids under 6 (mine are 6 and 3) and the other day I got a bit too relaxed and forgot to check if the 3 year old was zipped in...she wasn't and she bounced OFF the trampoline and back flipped onto the lawn. Could have been very nasty.....she bumped her head as they're quite high.

Stay with them when they are on it.

fantastic i moved from a flat to house with a garden this time last year. its the first thing i bought, dd loves it and has been on it every bay since, even in the snow.

i on the other hand experience the worry of incontenance when jumping on it. Grin

thanks, skinit! I don't let them out of my sight but I will be very careful. I'll have my seat right beside it!

I don't have to worry about incontinence, thankfully, just still got problems with SPD even though DS2 is almost 3!!!

'a word of warning...they're not advised for kids under 6'
oh that's rubbish my 4 have been bouncing on them since before they were 2

We have just sold our flat for this very reason ha ha. I would love a garden with a trampoline for the kids to play on. Sounds lovely

worraliberty · 09/04/2011 15:12

Sounds lovely!

Make sure they go on it one at a time though. I've seen too many heads clashed together and some nasty accidents when there's more than one child on at a time.

according to today's guardian it produces oxytonin - which makes yer feel good. Smile
feel free to correct me if i am wrong.

Best thing ever! Keeps them busy and also tires them out.

On the safety side just watch little ones as they get jolted when bouncing with bigger kids who bounce higher and this causes injury. Something to do with their little bones still forming. My friends DS aged 2 has dislocated his elbow twice.

Enjoy!

im a nanny and my last charges (3yrs and 5yrs) had a giant one in the garden. we had a party last year (it was a nice day so had a bbq with friends) and they were all bouncing and having fun (note, i know they arent MEANT to be all on together but im sick of this cotton wool culture and its more fun to bounce on together) and then they had icecream and watched in shock as me and my nanny friend went on, it was so fun-and yes it made me need to pee.:o

YANBU! What could be better than little ones having fun and excercising whilst mum gets a much needed sit down... I swear they are the older child's equivelant of a play pen :o

I also play excercise on it when DS is at nursery...

DS got an 8ft one last year for his 4th birthday and loves it!
