I know I've put afew pounds on recently and it was a new hairdresser. I lied and said yes as I didn't know what to say! Then I asked why did you ask that and he said because you have hair loss which is growing back! I don't know what's worse!

When I had each of mine (and it appears to be happening this time) my hair went thick and fabulous and grew like a weed. Then within weeks of giving birth, it started to fall out. Its perfectly normal, and thats probably what your hairdresser thought when he mentioned it and nothing to do with your weight!

Cheeky twat Grin

Obviously doesn't know not to ask anything about being pregnant, at any time Grin

Don't be upset, perhaps he's just stupid and should be pitied?

tallulahxhunny · 08/04/2011 22:35

well then he asked because of your hair loss, not because of your weight!! dont know why you feel so tetchy about that! lots of people lose hair and then it regrows, it can be down to stress or other problems like thyroid etc but most commonly caused by pregnancy.

bristolcities · 08/04/2011 22:35

I've had he same because I have about 3 inches of fluffy hair that sticks out from the rest of my long hair. I think it can be caused by wearing you hair in a tight pony tail or other up-do.

kittya · 08/04/2011 22:39

I get my hair done all the time and no ones mentioned it getting thinner! I better find a potion for it. I just thought it was a random thing to say and yes, it was my weight that sprang to mind!

I think you need to find another new hairdresser otherwise you will have to start making up details about a fictitious baby.

kittya · 08/04/2011 22:44

I did think that at the time! It was just on the off chance I needed a quick blow dry, I was expecting to talk about holidays or my weekend plans!

Kittya your post did make me laugh! (Not in a nasty way!).

I was once getting my eyes tested for new contacts. After the lengthy discussion on which contacts would be right for me and the optician cheerfully declared "and they are fine even for pregnant ladies!"

"Pregnant?"

"Oh. Your not?". Silence

You get me!

By way what are you going to do if the ask about the 'baby' next time?!

kittya · 08/04/2011 23:49

I won't be going back! But she's called martha anyway, I always liked that name. Goodness there must be some topics that are off bounds. I would never say that to a random stranger. When I go to the hairdressers I just want to talk about the weather or who is shagging who not my barron body!

My hairdresser noticed I was losing a lot of hair when she washed it last time.

She said "Ohhhhh Fudgegirl, are you a bit hormonal at the moment? Have you had your thyroid checked?

"You're not pregnant, are you?"

Sob :(

IAPJJLPJ · 09/04/2011 06:33

my hairdresser who I have been going to for years previously, knew both times before i had announced that i was pregnant. Apparently my hair presented "differently".

kittya · 09/04/2011 10:57

Im probably menopausal!
