AIBU?

The Police helicopter is above the town right now

and i can hear sirens in the distance.

(Yes, the town I live in has quite a poor reputation for crime/drug use and high stats for heart disease and teenage pregnancy...but that is not the issue i'm shocked at.)

As the title says..the helicopter is hovering, i can hear sirens...but 4 uniformed CSO's are in my street right now delivering frigging calenders on behalf of the borough council!

I think I would rather they were spending my council tax on uniformed officers who have powers of arrest etc than some PR exercise.

OK, I probably ABU but, bad timing or what.............?

PCSOs allow police officers to get on with policing and not bureaucratic crap.(they are probably PCSOs funded by the council not the police if that is what they are doing).
You won't have either soon.

Perhaps they are filming it from up above for a training video on how to post through peoples letter boxes?

Where are you? My brother lives in Streatham in London and it's a daily/nightly occurance.

Here in Brum the helicopter is usually hovering about but havn't heard it for weeks now. Good times!

scurryfunge is more than likely right.

I agree with YouaretooniceNOT, yeah I was wondering where it had got to. Obviously it is keeping busy where the OP lives!

I'd rather the CSOs were doing the calendars than the uniformed officers who are probably where the sirens are.

yes, Smethwick and scurry, it looked very 'wrong' though to be doing something mundane when it was so obvious a major incident was taking place.

anyway, it's gone now...heading in the direction of the Catthorpe interchange Grin

The town helicopter was out yesterday because they lost an OAP from the local hospital.

TBH what can the PCSO's do - might as well let them be posties for the afternoon.
