Im 37 weeks pregnant and have twice been admitted to hospital for a week each time with high BP.Im due a visit tomorrow and am terrified Im going to be kept in.
I have 3 DC,the youngest a year old and there are visiting restrictions in the hospital so I wouldnt get to see them.
Just needed to get my feelings out TBH.

That's not pathetic or unreasonable but fretting about it's not going to help.

Rillyrillygoodlooking · 06/04/2011 23:12

You're not pathetic. But, as I was told, if hospital is the best place for you then that's where you should be (if it even happens).

I hope that you are ok.

BumWiper · 06/04/2011 23:17

thank you.You are right,if hospital is where I need to be then so be it,and fretting will only cause my blood pressure to rise. Now I need to give myself a good shake.

You don't have long to go, at least you will get some rest ( I had placenta previa and was in and out from 36 weeks and I had 2DC's at home)

Take some deep breaths and do some relaxation exercises, I think is the absolute best thing you can do right now. Whatever happens will be what needs to, and you now need to be loving and kind to yourself, no need to kick yourself or give yourself a good shake. It's a scary time and it's understandable you have been fretting. But now focus on creating a calm state of mind so that no matter what happens you will be able to cope. I'm 37 weeks too btw, we will be seeing our beautiful babies soon hurrah! Hugs to you.

Hi Bumwiper (great name - just how I feel at the moment)

I hope that you are ok today (is it today?) and that you don't feel too stressed out by the whole situation.

Take care.

If you have a quiet word with the Matron about visiting times - I am sure you would be able to see your dc's. Or go for a wander outside the ward and get your dh to meet you there? You don't have to stay in bed ALL the time with high BP - I was kept in for 3 weeks prior to ds's birth at 32 weeks - although boring it was necessary.
