to be in hysterics over this? (Royal Wedding related - kinda)

Ok, I'm neither a Royalist or an anti-Royalist, and kinda neutral about the whole Royal Wedding thing.

MIL bought DD (2) the Royal Wedding Happyland set from ELC, DD has quite a large Happyland collection, and she happily set about playing with it. It has a Happyland Queen, Prince Phil, William and Kate figure, a Beefeater and a horse and carriage.

I'm now in hysterics on the floor over some of the things she has done with it:

  • she put Prince Phil in an enclosure of her Happyland Zoo
  • the Queen was stood in the bath of her Happyland house and ordered, rather forcefully, to "Dance!"
  • William was fed to her dinosaur, and declared to be "yummy"
  • Kate was run over by her own carriage, then made to go to school
  • the Beefeater was put in the train, which was being driven by a sheep, and is still on an endless journey to nowhere.

............. I could go on. Should I take it that my daughter is not a Royalist? Wink I wonder what Freud would have to say about all this.......

Particularly like Prince Philip's fate. Perhaps it will keep him out of trouble for a while!

gorionine · 06/04/2011 17:58

So will I It especially the Royal Jurassic park bit!

MorticiaAddams · 06/04/2011 20:02

I shall be watching the royal wedding closely to see if your dd is psychic. What an exciting wedding that would be!

FlaminGreatGallah · 06/04/2011 20:04

Brilliant! I'm going to get DS the Happyland Wedding set for exactly this reason and I've posted this before but one of would also be good.

Grabaspoon · 18/04/2011 13:51

HAHAHA

BringBackGoingForGold · 18/04/2011 14:15

Please film it and put it online, Adam and Joe style! I particularly love the existential sheep-driven Beefeater Grin

MoonGirl1981 · 18/04/2011 15:00

Your daughter sounds fabulous!

She's smart, I've always thought that being a Royal is like being in a zoo. They're bred in captivity and have to put on little skits and shows (i.e. Weddings) for the public's amusement.

nurseysclone · 19/04/2011 13:05

That sounds AMAZING! Could you please make a video? I'm still giggling at the thought

Zippylovesgeorge · 19/04/2011 13:39

Another vote for a video here - please :)

Sarsaparilllla · 19/04/2011 15:24

Genius :o

PorkChopSter · 19/04/2011 15:45

My DS2 immediately chucked Kate out of the royal carriage and replaced her with a corgi Grin

Our local Mothercare has child-sized cardboard cut outs of the William & Kate characters with holes where the faces are. I have photos of utterly disgusted looking DS1 and DD poking their faces through.

^^

PorkChopSter · 19/04/2011 15:48

YES!

FriedEggyAndSlippery · 19/04/2011 16:11

OMG I didn't even know there was a royal wedding happyland set. :o

Insomnia11 · 19/04/2011 17:47

There is a Happyland Royal Wedding set?

I might check it out How naff.

Blatherskite · 19/04/2011 17:54

My DD has binned Prince Philip, the Beefeater and the Corgi! Shock

We can't find them anywhere so I'm guessing she's managed to get them into the kitchen bin wihtout me seeing!!

Blatherskite · 19/04/2011 17:56

She also did this with one of the "hide and squeak" eggs. DS was in tears so I'm going to have to buy a whole other set! Sad
