To use child and parent parking space to drop my children off .......?

I am a member of a gym.

There are 6 parent and child spaces. I take the children most days.

One day, I took them, took DD swimming and then met DH who took both children off my hands and I went home before them to sort some bits out.

Returning to my car (without children) in the parent/child space I was "tutted" Grin at by a woman waiting with kids in the car. There were other spaces near by.

Would I have been unreasonable to give her an earful of how I had had 2 children for the afternoon until mere minutes ago.

Instead, I blushed, head down, got in to my car and drove off. I remain annoyed about this, but am laughing at myself as I type!

YANBU. Something similar happened to me (quite complicated, so I won't go into the details but I returned to the car with no children) and I still felt awful about it!

I parked with no children but came back with children a few minutes later.

The woman who tutted at me was Blush

You can't win. How do you know the tutting woman is not ranting about people without kids that use spaces? How would she know you had the kids before?

Another reason why these spaces are more trouble than they are worth.

A similar thing happened to me with a disabled space at the hospital. I was taking my mum for an appointment and was fortunate to get a space near the door. DD was with me and we took my mum inside (displaying her blue badge in the car. We left her at her appointment (her choice) and went back to the car. We were going to get a bit of shopping & come back when mum phoned me. At the car I got some random person saying it was an abuse of the badge scheme. I politely told them I was dropping my disabled mother off and was perfectly entitled to park there. They then muttered I don't see her. !!!!
