AIBU?

to sit up until 4:30 this morning just to win an ebay item?

It's my own fault. If I'd got up at 6am this morning I could have got the same item from a different seller - but since I missed it, I've now got to stay awake until 4:30 to try and get this one. It's currently 01:44am here - so just under 3 hours to go.

What's the betting I fall asleep just before 4:15?

Goofbay

What is it you are after?

And who the fuck has auctions finishing at crazy o clock???

what the hell is goofbay?? Confused

No, NSW.

I don't want to pay more than I have to for it - it's only a toy for DS - and there are too many hours of late afternoon for others to push the bidding up! I did think about the high bid but no.

Oho! Have just looked up goofbay. Didn't know about that, thanks!:)

Haven't ebayed a lot for a while so never come across it before.

Geordieminx - the auction ends at a perfectly reasonable UK hour, just incompatible with Aussie time.

Snipe it.

sorry, no not bothered about saying - it's a model of Toothless and Hiccup riding him. DS's latest craze is How to Train Your Dragon and he is already familiar with the concept that relevant toys can be got "from the shop".

Fabbychic - obviously I'm going to snipe it, hence planning to stay up so late Hmm - but now I know goofbay will do it for me, I will use that.

Bugger! I was hoping it was something Bigboy had outgrown, I could've posted it, then you could've slept Wink

Is it safe though? I mean, having just gone through it and realised I have to give away my ebay password etc., is it secure? Has anyone had any problems with it?

I've been sniping since 2003 and using goofbay for 4 years maybe? Never had any security problems and its much more reliable than bidnip for example.

heh, well so far I am on normal late - but yes, 4:30 would be crazy late for me. I'm starting to struggle a touch now!

Just got to go and work out what my ebay password is again...

No you don't need to log out.

How does a sniper differ from just putting in your maximum bid ? Do you end up being able to get the item cheaper ?

MorticiaAddams · 05/04/2011 18:28

I've been using auctionstealer.com for years with no problems. For the free bidding it bids within the last 8 seconds.
